Movie Review : All The Money In The World

All The Money In The World
Scott has delivered an astonishing feet of a film! This film first off had so many issues surrounding it after the whole Kevin Spacey allegations came out and for a film that had to shoot 22 scenes in 9 days and still make it work Ridley impressed the hell out of me. Not only did he keep that release date but he was still able to recast and re edit and salvage this film and keep it entertaining and still make it work and for that I applaud him. The film is gripping truly it is from the moment the boy gets taken to the last scene your constantly kept on edge not knowing how this will pan out.

For the performances Michelle Williams and Plummer are the standouts in this film giving tremendous talent to the screen. This has to be the first time I've ever encountered a performance getting award praise for a performance that wasn't his part to begin with and wow dose Plummer give powerful work in the film. He gives a career best performance in this film even though he's not in it for the whole film he still mesmerizes you with the screen time he dose have. As for Michelle she again gives an amazing performance portraying the mother showing such emotional depth to her role. All the performances are fantastic across the bored and keep you amazed by the great talent onscreen.

All the Money in the world is a well acted brilliantly directed film and a well structured film with an intriguing premise but at times can feel a little long besides that this film pulls off a magnificent feet that had to have been difficult and they did it they managed to keep the film entertaining due to the man behind the camera and all the actors involved. All The Money in the World is an astonishing achievement  film for Scott and a damn enjoyable film to see I highly recommend it.

Rated R : for language, some violence, disturbing images and brief drug content

This film revolves around the true story of the kidnapping of Paul Getty the grandson of the most richest man in the world who won't help get him back but his mother won't stop until he is home

Christopher Plummer : Plummer is electric in this giving truly outstanding work in this
Film. Plummer is one of the best actors period and he's so utterly charming and when I heard he was going to be replacing Spacey as Jean Paul Getty I was very excited to see how Plummer was going to portray this man. For the reason that Plummer is known for like I said being charming and very kind so to see him in a role where he places someone consumed and driven by greed I was so ecstatic to hear him playing it because it is a role that is very much out of his element and something we haven't seen him explore or do before. He's truly amazing I mean that he is incredible in this film. The moment he comes onscreen you can't take your eyes off of him theirs something he's bringing to the screen that is truly special. In the beginning of the film we see him being very warm and kind to his family and slowly as the film progresses we see the many other layers of himself peeled back showing his true self and it isn't a nice one. For Plummer amazed me by his ability to be so utterly smooth and charming in one moment and then the next be just cold as ice and so shallow and for him to make that transition onscreen was amazing to witness. Their are lines in the film he just brought such passion and meaning to theirs a scene with him and Wahlberg where their talking near the end of the film and the sheer anger and hate he has just felt so authentic and truthful as it was coming from a real place. Plummer explores places emotionally in the film we haven't seen before and it's jaw dropping brilliant work. He isn't in the film as much as I thought he would be but for the screen time he dose have he makes the most of it giving powerful delivery and just chews up the scene with his great work at hand here. Overall Plummer gives a career best performance with an electricity supporting turn in this film.

Michelle Williams : Williams once again dominates the screen with yet another fantastic performance! Williams is one of my favourite actresses and I also think is one of the most underrated actress's working today. She has given great performance after another in work from Manchester from the sea to my week worth Marilyn. She knows how to grip the audience with her tremendous acting chops and he dose so again greatly with her work in this film. She plays the mother of the child who's been kidnapped and she could of easily of just done what other films before have done with a kidnapping premiss which is panic and just show that throughout the entire film just giving a neutral emotional performance but she doesn't do that she makes you invested not in just her character but her performance as well in such a great way. In the film from the moment she learns her child has been kidnapped and held for ransom she just steals every scene with her raw emotional depth and great passion brought to her role. She makes you truly feel for her as she's just a mother that wants her son back. She just draws you in with her crackling delivery and explosive emotion that just really is one of the driving forces of the film. Their are moments where she just paints the screen with such emotion you can't but be drawn in to what she's doing and believe everything because she seems so real and genuine it doesn't feel acted and that's the great thing about her work here it seems so authentic. Michelle is compelling from start to finish giving a truly emotionally captivating performance that is heartbreaking overall Williams once again delivers on all fronts.

Ridley Scott : Scott has redeemed himself as a master craftsmen with his work on this film. Ridley not only did great direction which I'll get to in a Minute but his ability to steer this film and keep it on course after the issues that were around this film is so impressive. He was able to pull off a entire reshoot of a role within 9 days that had to contain 22 scenes worth that's crazy and still make the film good and deliver within the same release date and he did it. His direction is fantastic on the film probably his best directed film I've seen in years and I'll tell you why. He didn't do his usual big blockbuster this film is a true crime story that he really brought such incredible fascination to this story without it feeling to glamorized he kept it as real to the events as possible even if that meant it had to get disturbing he would go to that point because he doesn't sugar coat anything. He shows the events as it happened and unfolded and I like the truth he brought to the film as well as the compelling narrative being driven by truly great performances from his cast and jut giving a well rounded film that had so many problems and only Scott could pull this all off. His style is seen very much through this film and I love the mix of drama and tension and it mixed perfectly feeling like a dramatic thriller and Scott executed it perfectly. Overall Scott impressed me with what he had to do and the overall result is great all due to the man behind the camera Scott is flat out brilliant and gives one of his best directed films period.
