Movie Review: Gold

Gold
This film is a fantastic film I don't understand the negative reviews this film has received. This film is a great piece of work it's a interesting and shockingly true story I didn't know about as well by showcasing a marvellous performance from
Matthew McConaughey delivering top notch acting what more can you ask for. The film yes is slow at times but it picks up and it's a ride it's truly enjoyable and if you also love good acting check this film out Matthew is great in it overall I would say this is a fantastic film that people should definitely check out.

This film tells the shocking true story of Kenny Wells a man who finds good in Indonesia and makes millions off the profit of it but turns to be one of the biggest frauds in U.S. History

Rated R : for language throughout and some sexuality/nudity

Matthew McConaughey : Matthew is turning into one of the best actors of his time he truly shines once again in this shocking true story. Matthew once again shows the audience he truly can transform into his character and give an outstanding performance for which he dose greatly in this film. He was so committed to his role in the film he put on the weight he had the hair the whole nine yards from how we looked everything he was Kenny Wells. When I see Matthew in this film I don't see Matthew I see Kenny and that's real art when you see the character up on that screen and not the actor because they have done such a fine job at becoming and crafting themselves to be that character you forgot your watching the actor onscreen that takes talent and wow Matthew makes it look effortless. Theirs scenes when he's literally on his knees begging for the workers to stay and you can see the desperation in his eyes and the hope he has that gold is in Indonesia. Not only do I buy into Matthews performance but also he makes me invested and care about his character as well. Their are scenes when he is throwing glasses at the wall in anger and you can sense his frustration and anger it just seems so genuine and real theirs no false note in his performance. Overall Matthew delivers one of his finest performances to date.

Stephen Gaghan : Stephen has crafted a entertaining film that I enjoyed from start to finish. Stephen has directed such great work as Traffic which I will check out after seeing what he did with this film. He was able to take a story not many people are aware of and tell it in a compelling way to grab the audiences attention and keep it. As well as getting great performances from his cast and just having this fun style to the picture that you can't look away from. He did such a good job with this film I can't wait to see what he dose next overall great direction from Stephen.

The Lighting : The tones used in the film seemed gold like and it makes the frame truly shine. The film's colour pallet is so well done it colours the screen with such sizzling tones it fits the frame perfectly overall great lighting.

The Cinematography: the camera work in the film was fantastic! Their are some truly spectacular wide shots of the island on where they find the gold and it's captured beautifully through the lens it had this smooth movement that was so well done. I loved the way the camera shot and angled the scene very well done.

The Score : the music composed was well done. The music felt very techno and also very soft I liked the sound of music used throughout the film it made me feel the right emotions at the right time it is very well composed and also some great tracks in it to loved it.
