Movie Review : Jackie
Jackie
This is one of the best true story films I've ever seen! Their have been many films of true events but this one specifically is one of the most well known events in human history. And they did it executed it greatly onscreen with incredible music, set design and especially the powerhouse performance from Natalie Portman. This film is a incredible piece of film people should see.
This film tells the true story of the impact of John F. Kennedy's assassination affected Jackie Kennedy
Rated R : for brief strong violence and some language
Natalie Portman : Natalie has truly outdone herself with this incredibly moving and emotional scene stealing powerhouse performance! Natalie amazed me with her talent with her work in Black Swan and she dose once again with this film. She plays Jackie Kennedy and she showcases the impact it made on her mentally and emotionally. The way Portman shows that onscreen is truly outstanding. Not only dose she bring a terrific performance to the film but she looks like her Portman's voice the way she carries herself everything she really fully transformed into Jackie Kennedy and it's incredible to watch. The way she delivers her lines is so captivating she was so committed to her role and gave her all in every scene you can't take your eyes off her performance in this film she is truly captivating in the film. her emotional range was magnificent she showcased some of the best acting I've ever seen in a film with her work in this film. When she's crying and her voice is full of sadness you feel her emotion and the tears streaming from her face it feels so genuine and and real their is no false note in her performance. Her emotion in the film was heartbreaking and she's just so gripping with her astonishing work in the film. Overall Natalie not only delivers a fantastic performance but one of the best performances I've ever seen its truly a performance that's shines upon the screen and dazzles every aspect of the frame it's electric.
Pablo LarraĆn : What an incredibly well directed film from Pablo! This director I had not seen any of his previous work but after seeing what he brought to this film I'll check his other stuff out because he his a genius behind the lens with this film. He not only did a proper and accurate representation of the life of Jackie Kennedy but his style of direction was incredible. He would re shoot footage of events that took place with Jackie Kennedy with Natalie Portman and it's amazing it makes it feel more like a real portrayal of her. He did a splendid job with this film he was able to get great performances from his cast and tell one of the most well known events in history to pure perfection and accuracy. He didn't sugarcoat it he showed the events for how it actually happened and I loved that he made it as grounded and realistic as possible staying true to what happened. Overall Pablo directed this film beautifully.
The Lighting : The tones in the film were so important and gorgeously used. The lighting played a huge contributing factor to the film. The colours and mixture of tone made it really feel like you were back in the time of when the events took place. Which really got the audience to feel immersed in the film I loved it great job guys.
The Cinematography : their are some scenes worth mentioning that I thought were incredibly well filmed. The film is shot extraordinarily well but their are a few scenes that really stood out to me. One being the car after the assassination and how they captured the mayhem and chaos and shock it was captured through the lens so well. As well as the scene where Jackie is in the shower and is so shocked with what happened the camera really captured the raw emotion being delivered in the scene and shot it from great angles to capture the tone and feel of the film. It was fantastic loved it.
The Score : The music used was so Beautiful. The film was able to express the feelings of sadness, shock and everything in between so well with the great use of sounds in the film. It really fit the frame and every scene well I thought the composed music did a fantastic job at capturing the tone of the film perfectly loved the score in the film.
