Movie Review : The Dallas Buyers Club
The Dallas Buyers Club
This film was amazing. Matthew McConaughey gave the performance of his
career he has really taken a drastic turn in his career for the better and
on the other hand Jared Leto gave one of the best supporting. Performances
I've seen in a lifetime. Defiantly worth your money
Rated: R for perverse sexual content, perverse language, smoking and drug
use.
A hustler Ronnie Woodroof gets diagnosed with AIDS. Will he die a slow
painful death or will he survive the terrors of AIDS?
Matthew McConaughey gave the best performance of his career. He lost
himself in his character just like Tom Hanks in Philadelphia. He was
completely serious. It's not like his other roles where he's the comedic
boy toy. In this film he put his tears and bones into this performance. He
brought the character alive. He had this emotional drive that kept him
motivated, just like his performance in Mud. He is the everyday hero trying
to save patients with AIDS. He makes you believe in heroes again and
teaches you sometimes you have to stand up for what's right to get your
voice to be heard. This performance changed my life. Made me cry, cheer,
grip onto my seat - Loved it!
Jared Leto gave one of the most empowering performances of a lifetime. I
have not seen any of Jared Leto's other films but after seeing this
performance, I'll watch all of them. He plays a HIV-positive transgender
woman. He was so convincing when you watch it you are like that's actually
a girl because he dose everything to make it convincing. He definitely
takes the spotlight. He was way better than Matthew McConaughey. The
chemistry with them both in a scene together makes it magical. The humour
is great - definitely Oscar worthy. If he doesn't get a nom I won't have
any belief in the Academy for choosing good acting. He deserves the Best
Supporting Actor award. Amazing job Jared - you defiantly got my vote!
This film was predictable because it's patients with AIDS but the thing
Hollywood is clever for doing is making you believe you know what's going to
happen then they take a turn and then your blind you don't know what happens
that's what happened with Dallas buyers
The directing by Jean-Marc Vallee was amazing. I've never heard of this
director before or seen any of his films but he is a great director. He did
a very good job for a unknown director. After seeing this I would see what
other films he has lined up next.
Cinematography was great. The angles with the bull riding scenes were
breathtaking and very detailed. It should be considered for a Oscar nom.
The music was great. It was very nostalgic and fit the period piece very
well. It had me tapping along. I will, for sure, download this soundtrack.
Editors Note:

Buyers received:
