Mud movie review

Mud - August 18th 2013

The movie was a fantastic drama coming of age film. Great performance by
Matthew McConaughey as Mud.  It's a great film.  This would be on my top 10
list for best films of 2013.  Definitely it has great acting and an
interesting story.

Rating: PG-13 - for some violence, sexual references, language, thematic
elements, and smoking.

Two boys encounter a fugitive and form a pact to help him.

Matthew McConaughey  brought such spirit to his character.  He is now taking
acting seriously which is great because he can be a good actor when he wants to.  I loved his performance so much that I hope he gets a Best Actor
Nomination.  He plays an unstable man who's had a troubled past with the law
and has a very bad temper when it comes out.  He surrounds himself with good
friends but can trust the wrong people at the wrong times.

This film wasn't very predictable because I've never really seen a film like
this before so you don't really know what's going to happen.  This film
reminded me of a Alfred Hitchcock movie in the modern times because it was a
thriller without all the explosions and action.  It was suspenseful.

The cinematography was average.  I was a little disappointed as I thought
the shots would of been at least good.  The lighting was awful - I hated it.
It was way too bright and joyful even when the characters were sad, which
made no sense.

The music was great.  It was a perfect setting for the movie  - loved it!
