Movie Review : The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight

This film blew me away. I think this film is one of the best films ever made. It has action, it has some dry humour, romance between Rachel and Bruce - what more do you want in a movie?

The  target audience is age 13 and older for disturbing images, action sequences and violence

When Batman and District Attorney go after the mob, they let the jack out of the box. The Joker's goal to turn Gotham on itself and for the people of Gotham to learn there are no rules.

Heath Ledger:  stole the show with his portrayal of the Joker. There was an electricity in the room when he was acting. It was one of the best acting performances I've ever seen!  He lost himself in the character which made his performance even better.  His husky laugh was intimidating so was his voice.  There was no surprise we all knew he was going to blow us away since his other performance in Brokeback Mountain made us all believe he was a gifted actor. He gave 100% to this role escaping into the character. Forgetting we were watching Heath it felt like we were watching the joker. From the way he looked and delivered his dialogue he ate slept and breathed this character. When he's onscreen you cannot take your eyes off him because his performance he's providing the audience is so rich. The chemistry he has with Bale was brilliant it felt so natural and real. Overall I loved his performance truly one of the greatest performances ever caught on film.

Christian Bale : did a great job as the Dark Knight!  He had to play as this emotionally  broken down guy who has to make the choice if he wants to keep on doing this. Bale is truly outstanding in this iconic title role. He is the best actor to portray this wonderful character.  The way he talks with his deep intimidating voice to the costume he is batman. The way he's able to connect to the character emotionally was great. You could see in his eyes the pain ans suffering he is feeling. Bale once again gives us another great performance.

This film was ten times better than I thought it would be.  It had an amazing plot as you could understand it. It was highly entertaining.  There is no other Director comes to mind when you watch this, as this is an original Christopher Nolan film.

The cinematography in it was amazing with so many great shots.  One of the best shots of the film
was they flipped a freaking transport truck over 54 feet up in the air.  It was breath taking. Got the
adrenaline pumping in you.  Like when the Joker is standing on the street wanting Batman to run him over.

Christopher Nolan : One of the most brilliant visionaries in the business! Christopher has provided us with some of cinemas most brilliant work such as Memento and the Prestige. So when I heard he was directing this film I was extremely excited. He blew me away with his directing on this huge scale of a film. He brought this gritty and dark feel to the comic universe that's to rich and perfect to ignore. He got pitch perfect performances out of his cast along with great locations for the film. When he tells a story he gets you invested in the characters and the story. You get so attached to the characters and story you can't turn your head away from the screen that's what Christopher showed in this triumph of a film. Theirs no false not anywhere this film is basically perfect no other director could of pulled this off only Christopher could. Overall perfect direction definitely Oscar worthy at its best.

The music was original. It was written by Hans Zimmer.  He wrote a fantastic score for the Dark Knight franchise.  His best one, though, I think is the Joker's Theme.  It's just the perfect score for a movie.
