The Heat movie review

The heat movie review July 4th 2013

I think the film lived up to my expectations.  It had comedy and enough room for the action not many films has that anymore. I loved it.  It had great timing for the comedy then they knew when to be serious and when to progress the story.  The movie never really slowed down which is brilliant.  I have nothing bad to say about this film it's a great flick.  I highly recommend it .

I think the target audience is age 15 and over. It was a serious plot with a lot of crude humour and some graphic violence.

A FBI agent is extremely ambitious and has her eye on a promotion but she doesn't get along with her co-workers. She is sent to Boston to work with a Boston cop to take down a drug lord.

Melissa McCarthy - I think she is now the funniest comedian out there.  She had the best performance the film. She's so good she's unpredictable you don't know what she will do or say next. I would see 100 more films with her in them.

Sandra Bullock -  Had another great performance as the straight cop as she has in the past (Ms Congeniality, 2000). She was hilarious.  Her and Melissa McCarthy were like the best film duo in any action comedy film. I would definitely see the Heat 2 when it comes out.

It definitely was better then I thought it would be and when I was watching it what came to mind was a kinda Judd Aptow kind of film like The Five Year Engagement, 2012 and Step Brothers, 2009.

The cinematography in this film was great.  It had some amazing shots.  For example the far-away shots got a lot in the scene, the medium-angled shots so you could feel the emotion in the scene. It was well directed by Paul Feig. I thought he captured the right action at the right time and the emotion had perfect timing. The lighting in the film was great for the comedic scenes as the lighting would be bright and the music upbeat.  When it was emotional, it was a little more dark and sad.

The Heat had popular songs from the 1980's to the 2000's. it had great songs such as More Than A Feeling (Boston, 1989).  I loved the soundtrack.
