This film is a blast and such fun. Blockers is great fun I don’t understand why people didn’t like this film that much it’s a damn good film.

It is a genius piece of film for the fact it takes the formula of losing your V card on prom night and flipping it on it’s head. We’ve seen time and time again in films like American Pie and so many others where they make a pact to loose their V card by prom but we’ve never seen it from the parents point of view and I find that so genius.

In the film it’s a laugh out loud riot with great humour and fantastic chemistry among the cast but it also has a surprising amount of heart and really genuinely heartwarming moments in it. Blockers is a hilarious enjoyable time to be had I definitely recommend this film.

Three parents watch their kids grow and as prom night approaches it takes an unexpected turn when they find out their kids are planning to loose their virginity on prom night so they go to whatever means to prevent that from happening

Ike Barinholtz : Ike really delivers a solid comedic performance here. This actor has for the most part of his career given comedic performances from Neighbours as well as others but I think this is his best so far performance wise. Reason I say that yes he is funny as he usually is and what makes it different this time around with his work in this particular film is the serious moments he shares onscreen and how genuine and real he can seem and it’s so amazing to watch as he’s never really shown that side to him before which was incredible to witness unfold onscreen. His ability to mix humour and emotional depth was terrific it made for a scene stealing performance. He plays a father who is just really looking Out for his daughter and you really believe him and he plays it so well he can make you bust into laughter with his great comedic timing and then the next just warm your heart In the smaller and more intimate moments in the film. He really surprised me here and he was one of the best parts of the film and a standout for sure due to what he’s giving onscreen and it shouldn’t go unnoticed. Ike excels onscreen giving a great strong performance that is both hilarious but also heartwarming.

Kay Cannon : This got impressed me with his directing skills here. As we know Kay is a talented screenwriter who knows how to craft comedy’s in ways that are funny with great humour that’s relatable but also has a heart to it and has a positive message. But we have not seen him really tackle directing and here he really did a fantastic job at helming this cast with getting great performances from the cast and capturing great chemistry amount them as well and really bringing this story to life on the screen that wasn’t just another edgy comedy but really had meaning to it and he brought to the film he brings the heart. He shows how relatable this situation can be and also how funny it can be and the learning outcome of it as well and his ability to showcase that onscreen with his style was perfect. He knew when to let the comedy just go with it but never to much where you got tired of it and then it also could give you emotional moments that impact you he walked the line greatly. Overall Kay proves himself as a terrific director and look forward to what he dose next behind the camera.
