Movie Review : O.J. : Made In America

O.J. : Made In America
This is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen! This is a 7 hour in depth look at the life and trial of O.J. Simpson. The documentary explores subjects about the LA police to race in America and of course Simpsons famous 1994 trial this is a masterpiece that deserves to be seen.

This documentary tells the story of O.J. Simpson from football superstar to media icon to mega movie star and eventually murder suspect in the 1994 trial all the way up to his arrest in 2007

Rated 18A : disturbing images, language

Ezra Edelman : Ezra is a visionary director by taking one of the most notorious cases in American history and showing  such a in depth look into it all! I've never heard of this director before but after watching this film i was amazed of what he was able to accomplish with this incredibly well made documentary. He not only took the 1994 trial but he also showed it all leading up to that Simpsons football years, film career to when he first met Nicole and also the arrest of him in 07 in Nevada. He crafted this documentary so well tackling very tough issues and doing it the right way showing the pros and cons on both sides of the table. I loved how we was able to get Simpsons friends and even the prosecutors who worked on the 1994 trial to be in this each telling their story. It's 7 hours it's long but I enjoyed every minute because he explained every inch of detail to me so after seeing it I have a understanding of trial and Simpson I didn't have or know before. He used footage I had never seen which made me learn so much. He should be praised highly for his direction on this incredible documentary outstanding direction.

The Lighting : they did good lighting that shouldn't go unnoticed. In the documentary they use blue lighting throughout the film to express emotion of how the people expressed their opinions. As well as when they discussed heavy topics it got darker I noticed that very subtle but noticed it good job guys.

The Cinematography: Good angles! The camerawork of showing the courtroom and shots of the prison in Nevada were very well captured to give me a better understanding of what it all looked like. They did a fantastic job with the movement of the camera.

The Score : The music that went through this film was very quiet but at the end got a little louder but I loved the instrumental music they incorporated into the film. was very well composed and fit the heavy subjects discussed in the documentary.
