Movie Review : Slumdog Millionaire

Slumdog Millionaire
This film was a triumph ! The excellent directing by Danny Boyle& wonderful story that wad so intriguing was wonderful. The performances were so strong . This is one of the best Oscar winning films I have ever come across.

This tells the extraordinary story of a Young Man who is put on a teal vision show of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? And through his intelligence  brings him great fortunes.

Rated R : Strong subject matter some disturbing images some violence and language

Dev Patel : He gave such a strong performance onscreen! From the very first scene you see him in onscreen he captivates you and you can take your eyes off him . His character has feelings of anger , love, passion and Dev executed that perfectly onscreen. When Dev&Freida were onscreen together the emotion and acting felt so real and realistic . This performance got snubbed by the Oscars but did get noticed at the BAFTA's. I Loved this powerhouse performance .

Freida Pinto : Her performance was so believable it was outstanding ! Her performance as the female of the film plays this beautiful tragic character . Her character in the film goes through a traumatic experience and try's to survive and she perfectly shows that through her emotion of her facial expressions and how she delivered her lines . She definitely did deserve the Oscar for best supporting actress but got snubbed. Loved this performance.

Ashutosh Lobo Gajiwala : He delivered such a astonishing supporting performance !  The raw emotion he has on his face and delivers through his lines was heartbreaking . His character you can't quiet figure out which was interesting . He brought such life to the role which was brilliant Great job.

Danny Boyle : The best directed film since Crash! The film felt fresh original and very entertaining . That's what Danny was able to provide for the audience he didn't glamour it in Hollywood glitter he showed the truth of the slums which made a better result for a more entertaining picture. The actors he cast for these wonderful characters was brilliant . He just made the film feel real entertaining and overall a wonderful picture great job!

The Lighting : It felt bright when they went through the slums when they were kids but when the scene was disturbing at times the lighting went dark as dark as the devils soul. The lighting they used I haven't seen before and it was wonderful . Great job.

The Cinematography : Left me breathless! The shots they used when they were going through the slums and how it felt as if you were right behind them running with them was great. I loved it.

The Score : A.R. Rahman created some of the most majestic and beautiful pieces of music I have heard since Thomas Newman's score he did for the Green Mile. He wrote a very upbeat song called Jai Ho it  is a great song to put in this wonderful picture . The score he constructed for this film was upbeat calm and low key at times which is astonishing because not a lot of composers can put such compelling emotion into that score . Definitely worth downloading on iTunes .
