Movie Review : Platoon

Platoon
This film is truly one of the best films ever made. The intruding story and perfect direction my Oliver Stone . The great performances by Dafoe and the entire cast was amazing . This film is one of the most genre defining films of our time .

When a young solider enlist in the Vietnam war he can only rely on is his brothers and his gut for survival in this thing called war.

Rated R : Disturbing images , Strong violence throughout , Strong language & some sexual references

Charlie Sheen : One of his most strongest performances to date . He was just getting known when this film came out then then this film led him on to other  films like Wall Street. This performance he gives in the film is so strong and realistic it's such a triumph. The raw emotion he provides in the character was anger , fear and so many other emotions which he portrayed perfectly . He defiantly got snubbed at the Oscars for best actor he did such a great job. When Charlie&Dafoe were in a scene together the acting just flowed so naturally I loved it. Loved the performance .

Willem Dafoe : Best performance of the film huge Oscar snub . Willem got nominated for best supporting actor at the Oscars but didn't win which I got so mad about. Because he did such a wonderful performance and portrayal of this character . The emotion he put in this role was extraordinary . He just made the performance so real it was perfection. One of the greatest supporting performances I have ever seen!

Tom Berenger : This performance was so strong and powerful. When Tom&Dafoe were in a scene together the acting just felt so real and organic . The phenomenal performance that Tom provides in this role is great. The real raw emotion he has in his eyes is killer. The way he delivered his dialogue and how he was just such a presence onscreen was wonderful . He also was nominated at the Oscars and also deserved the Oscar but got snubbed. I loved this performance .

Oliver Stone : He did some of the best direction I have ever seen. The way he shot the film from the sound to the cinematography everything was perfect in every place . The performances he got out of how actors were stellar . How he got you so interested in this intriguing story and how he got you to care so much for these wonderful characters was genius . Theirs a reason why he won the Oscar for best director because he provided a wonderful picture.

The Lighting : I absolutely loved the style of lighting in this film. The lighting choice they had for the film made the film feel more real and sparkle . It was bright and dark they used this lighting style I haven't seen before . It just made the film shine through even more through the lighting  Great job guys .

The Cinematography : The angles and shots on this film was extraordinary . The battle sequences they have in the film the shots were very well done and well angled. So you can see what's happening and have that feel of what their going through so you experience the journey with them I loved it.

The Score : This score was the best war film score I have ever heard. It felt majestic it would go low key at times when it was a dark or serious moment . But when it was a battle it would go loud I loved it.
