Movie Review : The Wolf Of Wall Street

The Wolf of Wall Street

This movie was phenomenal.  A little too much sex & nudity but put that
aside and put Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese together, in the picture, and you got magic onscreen!  One of the best or is the best performance of DiCaprio's career. Got a lot of criticism from the critics but not this one because films were made for us to escape for a hour or two and see life from another angle while being entertained, which I thought this film brought. Films are supposed to be a different  experience and something new.

Rated R: For explicit sex & nudity, perversive language and drug use.

Jordan Belfort making thousands of dollars was never enough.  Will it all
come tumbling down with the FBI breathing down his neck or will he get away
with it?

Leonardo DiCaprio: this performance is easily one of  his best performances he's ever done.

besides his  role in The Departed. I can't think of any other role he has played putting his
sweat and bones and soul into.  He's seduced by greed, inhales drugs like
its air, and party's like a rock star. DiCaprio has been nominated for best

Actor by the Academy. I would like to see him win it but I don't think the
Academy is going to choose him because he has been snubbed over in the past,
including his transforming performance in the Departed, which he should of
won for. For Django Unchained, he got a nomination at the Golden Globes for
Best Supporting Actor but not at the Oscars. Anyways he deserves to be at
the Oscars this year!

Jonah Hill:  I liked his performance.  He's starting to become a real fine
actor, but his character in Wolf just came across as a constant idiot. I
didn't see any intelligence in that character.  He doesn't deserve to be in
the supporting category at the Oscars this year.  It should of been Daniel
Bruel for Rush. I'll explain why.  He did a good job, yes, but not Oscar
worthy.  He was just an idiot as he smoked cocaine and popes Quaaludes.  He

was good feeding off DiCaprio. When he was impacted by the drugs, when he
was choking and DiCaprio was doing the Heimlich manoeuvre, that was only the
highlight. This scene was very well acted. Jonah you're a great actor when
you're serious, and not trying to be, that's when the comedy comes across
best.

Margot Robbie: best performance by an actress who I have never seen before!
This actress I have not seen or even heard of until I watched the Wolf of
Wall Street. She was phenomenal! I'm shocked she didn't get an Oscar
nomination for Best Supporting Actress.  She was great at being seductive,
sexy and serious all at once while delivering her performance - which is
acting magic at least I think for a actor.

Since I never read the novel, very unpredictable because it's very
realistic.  You don't know if Jordan would get caught by the FBI - just

gripping and intriguing!

Martin Scorsese: best film of his since the Departed.  The directing was
phenomenal!! When you watch a Scorsese film he lets you escape from your everyday life for a few hours and just entertain you with great performances and a wonderful and intriguing story. Which he delivers in this film their was no surprise this film was going to be great cause DiCaprio&Scorsese have teamed up in the past with projects such as The Aviator, Gangs of New York, The Departed&Shutter Island. So their was no surprise these two were going to blow us away with their great collaboration skills. Martin is one of the directors who's films will stand the test of time he doesn't try and copy other directors he has his own style of directing which I love. He is a great storyteller and this is another great film from Scorsese once again.

Editor's Note:

At the 86th Academy Awards, the Wolf of Wall Street received these following
nominations:

Best Actor:  Leonardo DiCaprio
Best Supporting Actor:  Jonah Hill
Best Adaptive Screenplay:  Terence Winter
Best Director:  Martin Scorsese
Best Picture
