Oscar Predictions 2015

Foxcatcher :   Best Picture ,   Best Actor (Steve Carell) , Best Supporting Actor (Channing Tatum ) , Best film Editing , Best Director ( Bennett Miller)  , Best Makeup

Reason: It could receive  a best picture nomination because Bennett Miller is directing it. He has directed the oscar nominated films such as Capote  and MoneyBall  for me the chances are high. For best actor and best supporting Steve Carell looks like he's now taking his acting quite seriously .He took a turn recently in quite different roles like last years drama comedy the way way back .He played the dislikable character and made it convincing   .The makeup looks great on him so it will be no surprise if he gets nominated for best actor. Channing Tatum  is a great actor so him brining his serious acting techniques to this film . he was great in a small film he did called Side Effects . He had a small role but was great so I would be very pleased to see him get nominated at the Oscars.



Into The Woods : Best Picture , Best Actress ( Merl Streep) Best Supporting Actor ( Johnny Depp)  , Best Director ( Rob Marshall) ,  Best adapted Screenplay

Reason: Rob Marshall has in the past have had successful musicals such as his Oscar winning film Chicago so no surprise if theirs a best picture nomination and best director . For best actress Meryl Streep gets nominated for everything . For supporting actor  I would love to see Johnny Depp get a nomination from the academy . Why I mention his name is because his other musicals he has done in the past such as his best actor nominated performance in Sweeney Todd . Another one that he also did got good reviews  but  got ok  numbers at the box office was Cry Baby both of them were great  films . I hope he gets recognition for this role .  I hope it  gets recognized from the academy it looks like a great film.

Lucy: Best Actress ( Scarlett Johansson) best visual effects , best cinematography , best original screenplay  , Best sound Mixing

Reason: This film looks like it is going to be big at the box office and Scarlett Johansson looks brilliant in it. She's never received a Oscar nomination I would love for her to finally take home a Oscar . She's  been in so many great films with great performances it's time ! The visual effects  and cinematography looks stunning it reminds me of the matrix meets inception  it's different something original . it seems mind bending so I would love to see it get nominations on cinematography and visual effects . This film looks so original and unique so potential is here looks like a nomination should be considered .


Neighbors : best Actor ( Zac Efron)

Reason : I say this because the reviews I have seen have been very positive on IMDB it got a 8.3 on a comedy! And if you guys remember Melissa McCarthy got a Oscar nomination for Bridesmaids for best supporting Actress . So if Efron gets recognition from the Academy it will be a shock but comedy's do get recognition time to time .


Devils Knot :  Best Picture , Best Actor ( Colin Firth) ,  Best Actress  ( Reese Witherspoon ) , Best Original Screenplay ,

Reason : this could bring Collin firth's comeback in a really serious role and also with Reese    Witherspoon why I say the could get nominated because they have both own Oscars ! Both of them I a film together just give them the Oscars already . For best picture it's because it looks like a serious dark drama and that's what the academy votes for serious dramas so it could be considered . We haven't seen this done before with A - list actors so original screenplay should get considered as well.


The Grand Budapest Hotel : Best Picture , Best Actor ( Ralph Fiennes) , Best Supporting Actor ( Tony Revolori) , Best Director ( Wes Anderson ) , Best Original Screenplay , Best makeup, Best  costume design , Best production Design ,

Reason: this film is getting rave reviews by the critics Ralph Fiennes looks stellar  in it theirs no reason they wouldn't recognize this film For best picture or best actor . This film looks different than any other movie . looks like it will revive a bunch of nominations for best costume design. Best makeup , production design and more !



The Imitation Game:  Best Picture, Best Actor ( Benedict Cumberbatch),  Best Actress ( Keira knightly ) ,

Reason : this film looks to me it could be Benedict Cumberbatch's year for his the Oscar. He's done a bunch of great performances so it's only a matter of time until he receives a Oscar nomination for his great performances . Keira knightly looks like she could slide in a nomination because in 2012 she got great reviews from her film. Anna Karenina and got snubbed at the Oscars  . So this years could be a year . This film seems like a interesting fresh and intriguing film so it could get a best picture nomination .


The Revenant : Best Actor ( Leonardo DiCaprio )

Reason :  This seems like Leonardo DiCaprio is out to grab that Oscar maybe because he lost  for best actor for the Wolf of Wall Street and is seeking  Oscar glory . so this film may get his his first win. It is a serious role which is what the academy wants from him will this finally be his year !
