Movie Review : 12 Years A Slave

12 Years A Slave
This film was visually stunning and beautiful brought me emotionally to tears. The acting was amazing the directing was brilliant by Steve McQueen . Will be remembered for one of the finest films in cinematic history .

Rating : R cruelty violence language and sexual abuse

Solomon northup gets kidnapped and sold into slavery and shows you how strong the human spirit is

Chiwetel Ejiofor : The performance was so gripping and strong he defiantly deserved that Oscar nomination. I haven't seen any of Ejifor's work but after seeing this brilliant performance I will see all of his materiel . He put himself in this character and played him so well . He put his bones and sweat to this performance he kept on blowing me away with his acting and the psychical condition .He had to go through his performance brought me to tears which is rare.

Lupita Nyong'o : Her performance brought me to tears she breathed and lived that character. This was her first major motion picture and she did a brilliant job . She deserved every award she got for this role including her Oscar win . She played this abused scared woman and made me want to help her . At times it was hard to watch see what was happening to her it was disturbing . but keep in mid that's what they did to them sadly. Since seeing this performance I will watch all of her films her acting is stellar .

Michael Fassbender: Gave a striking performance as the brutal plantation owner . He was this character just like the other performances he put himself in the character and made the performance believable . He deserved to win for best supporting actor at the Oscars their should of been a tie Jared Leto and Michael Fassbender win . Why because they were equally stunning performances .

Steve McQueen : Gave some of the best directing I have seen since I watched Saving Private Ryan . He brought the best performances out of his actors . He also made the period look just like what it would actually like down to every single detail it was beautiful . He is one of the most original directors this won't be the last masterpiece by McQueen.

The lighting was great it made feel like you were in that time period and living every moment of it.

Cinematography was great the one that stood out was when epps was going after Solomon how they made it seem like you were running right next to them .
Great job !

The score was so well done by legendary composer Hans Zimmer . Another great piece of score the music got you soaked up in it very empowering and emotional . Another masterpiece great job Hans Zimmer !
