Movie Review : Skyfall

Skyfall
This movie was one of the best films of 2012.  This was the best bond film ever made!!  It had more action than I thought it would have.  Great action sequences and a great performance by Javier Bardem loved it.  They made the feel of the movie to be Bond's world is crumbling.  He is becoming an extinct species in the world.  The world is becoming a smaller place for him and he has to accept that and adapt with it.

Rating: PG-13 for intense action sequences throughout and some sexuality and language.

Bond's loyalty to M is tested when her past comes back to get her.

Daniel Craig's portrayal of James Bond is amazing.  He is the best bond yet. He did a great performance as playing the assassin as always.  This time Bond also has a dry sense of humour which is great. Because in the past we haven't seen Bond with really any good comedic lines.  He's always serious and wants to get the job done loved it!

Javier Bardem :  was brilliant as the villain. He struck fear into your hearts.  He didn't have to look intimidating to be scary. He lost himself completely in that character.  I'm surprised he didn't even get an Oscar nomination for his performance.  He will be remembered for his portrayal as Silva.  He is the best Bond villain in the entire franchise!! The way he was able to go into the skin of the character and fully inhabit  this character was brilliant. From the terrifying and disturbing qualities he was able to achieve in the character was the way he spoke and delivered his dialogue to the way he looked and
walked he gave 100% of himself to this character. The chemistry he had with Daniel onscreen was insanely good overall one of the best supporting performances of 2012!

Judi Dench : Gave such an entertaining supporting performance! Judi is one  of the most talented actress's in film history with her outstanding acting abilities. She shows us in this film with her wonderful performance why we fell in love with her in the first place. She has been in past bond films but nine of her performances in those ones stick out like her great performance in this one. She gave such a emotional and serious performance mixed with a little bit of humour which was simply brilliant. She was able to be serious in one scene being completely in the moment serious. Then could be in a scene with Daniel in a serious scene but could lighten the room up with her great dry humour which was great her chemistry she shares with Daniel onscreen is  extraordinary the connection they share is electrifying Overall loved her performance!

This film was unpredictable as any other Bond film.  It was packed with action.  You wouldn't know
where it would turn as it would keep you on the edge of your seat. This film felt like a Christopher
Nolan film as it has tons of action, great set pieces, fantastic characters and great performances.

The cinematography was out of this world! Roger Deakins shows some of the most stunning cinematography ever caught on film.  One of the best shots was when they did a far away shot on Severine's sail boat. It was amazing; so good it got a Oscar nomination for best cinematography - that tells you something.

Sam Mendes was the greatest choice for the Bond franchise as the Director.
He just let the inner child run wild with the film which is great.  Anything he wanted he made possible happen even if it cost a lot of money.  He was able to show us in this film why we fell in love with Bond in the first place the gadgets, The girls, The action he delivers all that for a fantastic thrill ride. He got great performances out of his cast with great beautiful locations to film these cinematic action sequences no other director could of made this masterpiece like Sam. He brought
this tone to the film that was gritty and dark but didn't lose sight of the spy style of it. Overall loved
his direction.

The Score :  was original written by and composed by Thomas Newman.  Adele's theme song Skyfall was awesome - it received an academy award!  The music is empowering as it had a great tone to the movie.  The music perfectly matched it.

The Lighting : It was great! The it was bright but had a dark tone to the picture made it one of the best  lighting tones I have seen in a  long time! What was so enjoyable was it had the old bond style we've grown to love. It wasn't to dark or to bright it was just right it fit the tone of the film perfectly

The costume design for Skyfall was great.  They went back to the 1970's and 1980's kinda look to the film.  They went for the classic look.  They wanted to start all over again with a fresh new start so what better way to do that than to have the classic Bond clothes.  The suit for Daniel was just
stunning.  The designer, Tom  Ford, did an amazing job.  It made me feel like I was in the film, Russia with Love, for parts of it.  Overall great costume designs.
