Hansel&Gretel : Witch Hunters
Hansel&Gretel : Witch Hunters
This movie was such a adrenaline rush! I don't get why this film got such negative reviews for it it was a great spin off of the classic fairy tail. The casting was great Renner&Gemma Had great chemistry onscreen together they made you believe they were bother&sisters it was great made it more believable. The story was so fresh because you think that the film wouldn't turn out good if they didn't do it well and that's what happened they perfectly executed this film . Overall I love this film
When Hansel&Gretel go through a traumatic experience in their life they then start hunting Witch's for a living Tip 1. Good way to kill a which burn them.
Rated R : Gory Violence some nudity & Strong language
Jeramy Renner : This was another great performance by Renner ! What is this actor not in he was in 2011's Ghost protocol then The Bourne Legacy to the Avengers. What I like about Renner is he dose what Depp dose he try's different genres and films he doesn't just stay in one style of filmmaking he branches out to different materiel . In this film he has a darkness in his eyes but wants to restore peace in the world with getting rid of which' and the evil in the world . Since his traumatic experience as a kid he doesn't want anyone to go through what he did again. And he showed all of that through his dialogue and emotions . He brought justice to this role as made it his own . The chemistry between Gemma in the film felt real which made for a better performance because it's more believable I loved it. Great job another great performance on Renner's part.
Gemma Arterton : Great performance by Gemma! Her portrayal as Gretel was raw tough and basically " don't mess with me" . Out of the two she was the toughest and most serious . The performance that Gemma brought to the character was brilliant she didn't copy any other portrayals of this beloved character from other films she made the character her own which was great. They way she delivered the dialogue and got along with Renner in the film was great. She could of easily just let the classic novel be her guide for the film . She didn't though which I thought was great she used her acting abilities and showed us how Gretel became the way she is and why. That to me is magnificent on her part . I loved how she could switch emotions quickly one minute she's killing a witch with a crossbow then in a split second she's looking at hansel with love in her eyes it's heartwarming . So I think it's great she can turn that on/off so quickly. I loved this performance.
Famke Janssen : Her performance as the evil sadistic Which was so convincing ! The makeup they used for her character was so detailed and realistic . It made the performance better with great makeup to strike fear into your heart and maybe make you jump out of your seat. Before I saw this film I only saw her in Taken (2008) and she was good in that so when I heard she was in this I was like ok she properly is going to be as good as her last performance . She didn't disappoint she was great. Because I believe for a good movie to be good the villain has to be as interesting as the hero . The villain has to be intimidating and scary for the film to work. She gave this bone chilling and Erie performance as the Evil Witch and it was very convinced go she didn't read the part she lived the character she got underneath its skin and became the character. Witch made for a better performance (see the joke I put in their) . Overall loved the performance.
Tommy Wirkola : His directing in this film was amazing . I haven't heard about his director before I saw saw this film. The way he created the world and how he got the plot development to go along naturally and organically. He did great direction . Great job!
The lighting : It was dark but not to dark it just felt right. I loved it Great job guys!
The Cinematography : their was some brilliant shots when they would kill the witches the camera angles would go all over the place and try new things it was great. I loved it!
The Score : It was so beautiful ! It went mellow sometimes then went high. It felt like the Danny Elfman score in Sleepy Hollow. Brilliant job!
