Top 10 Johnny Depp Performances

With Johnny Depp's Upcoming films coming out this year Transcendence  and into the woods I wanted to rank my top favourites enjoy!  

Commander Spencer Armacost - The Astronauts Wife
Johnny Depp delivered  a different and intense performance to this role the first and I have seen Johnny Depp be truly scary since Sweeney Todd

9. Sir James MatthewBarrie - Finding Neverland
Johnny delivered a sympathetic performance to this role he plays a writer who wants more out of life but when he lives each day like it's the last this performance earned Johnny  a golden globe and oscar nomination .

8. Roux - Chocolat
This role should that Johnny Depp can do good roles even when he's hardly in them for such a short period of time . This film was low budget but deserved every award it got .

7. The Mad Hatter - Alice in wonderland
This was another Magnificat performance by Depp as this sad scared energetic character .

6. John Dillinger - Public Enemies
This was one of the few times Johnny had so few words  in a performance and said so much with just actions and emotion Oscar worthy .

5.  Joe pistone - Donnie brasco
Johnny showed his serious and gritty side in this gangster drama he plays a undercover cop who goes as a mobster to collect information to bring back to the FBI . Johnny was so good it showed that he is better without all the clown makeup and just playing as your typical human being great job!

4. Sam - Benny & Joon
This is one of Johnny Depp's best performances the best part is his character models himself after a silent film star . He has hardly any dialogue he's mostly comedic and emotional thought out the film is one of my personal favourite Johnny Depp films

3. George Jung - Blow
This was a huge snub at the Oscars. This performance easily deserved a best actor nomination . Johnny Depp plays real life drug dealer George Jung and it was quite a serious role. He had to be a man in a dangerous world while caring for the ones he loves .I got so emotionally attached to this character loved it!

2. Ed Wood - Ed Wood
A Tim Burton Classic ! This film was so brilliant by Johnny Depp's performance as the quirky director Ed Wood . When you watch the film you can see it's Depp but not his voice it's hardly recognizable that's what was the great thing about the film .


1. Sweeney Todd - Sweeney Todd the demon barber of Fleet Street
Best  performance of Depp's career this film was so unique  . Johnny Depp brought something completely we haven't seen before it was so fresh and new he made the character intriguing to watch.
