Movie Review : The Disaster Artist
The Disaster Artist
This film is a beautiful work of art! This film is one of the years best with an outstanding performance given by Franco telling the unbelievable true story of the best worst movie ever made. This movie has so much heart and laughs and great emotion you can't help but love every moment of this wild ride your brought onto. It carries great performances an intruding story and just a fun time what more could you ask for in a film. This film is so damn enjoyable it left me smiling and I love that the Disaster Artist is a masterpiece
Rated R : for language throughout and some sexuality/nudity
This film is based on the unbelievable true story of Tommy Wiseau and goes behind the scenes on a guy who goes about making a film writing directing and starring resulting in one of the best worst films ever made
James Franco : Franco delivers a tour de force piece of acting we haven't seen before! Franco has shown us that he can blow us away with his great chops in films like Spring Breakers as Alien or in the film 127 hours but this performance is on another level. He plays the eccentric Tommy Wiseau and plays him so accurately and well it's scary you can hardly tell the difference to the actual guy. Franco could of easily of just done a imitation of him but he really gets in the skin of this character and the heart of this man showing so many sides and things about him I didn't know. The moment James shows up onscreen he steals the show with his electric presence of great magnitude that you can't look away from. He pours his heart into this role from the start to the very end and you can see it. Their are parts where he's just full of great hope and positivity its infectious then the next he can be broken down and in such hurt and pain your heart goes out to him and then he can scream in such passion and anger it all feels Genuine real raw emotion brought to the screen brilliantly by Franco. He truly dazzles the screen with his performance that I could see getting award attention as its a terrific piece of work. From the voice to the look of Tommy he plays him perfectly and you can't take your eyes off of him Franco delivers on every level.
James Franco : Franco gave great direction on this film! James has never done any prior direction work before this film and for this to be his first outing at it was shocking. Due to the fact that he did an incredible job for his first time at directing. He did an extraordinary job at helming this film really soaking the film in its environment of the 90's from the cars to the look of the town to the music he really made you feel immersed in every place you were in. As well as the style he brought to the film showing the behind the scenes of the film but also showing the personal lives of the guys involved giving great amounts of drama and comedy and really balancing it out perfectly giving the right amount of both tones. He makes you laugh feel inspired and tug on heart strings all due to the fantastic direction at hand. Giving the audience a fun time while showing what went on behind the scenes that we didn't know of in an entertaining and humorous way. Franco knocks it out of the park for his first time as directing and I can't wait to see what he dose next because he truly impressed me what a fantastic job.
