Movie Review : Get Out

Get Out
This film is creepy, well written and well directed as well as incredibly well acted Get out will have you engaged until the credits. This film has been getting so much critical acclaim and so I had to see the film if it lived up to all the hype surrounding the movie and dose Is? I will tell you yes it dose this film is amazing if you want to see a film with a great plot but also can scare you and draw you in this film is for you. This is probably one of the best horror films And one of the most effective and smart horror films since Silence of the lambs. This is a brilliant film everyone should see it's honestly one of the years best films.

This film is about a African American man who is dating a girl and is worried that her family won't like him because he's not white he's paranoid but once he gets to the house he finds out nothing is what it seems

Rated R : violence, bloody images, language including sexual references

Daniel Kaluuya : Daniel gives a truly terrific breakout performance in this film. To me and many others this actor is not very well known but after this film he will be an actor people will sit up and take note because he's great in this film. He plays a boyfriend paranoid that if the parents will like him or not because  of the colour of his skin. He also has some deep emotional wounds as well and the way Daniel was able to play and express that onscreen was fantastic. He brought such likability to his character right away he's connecting to the audience getting you invested in his character right off the bat. He also was able to anchor his character giving him serious emotional depth to his role and performance. He brought the dialogue to life with the passion and well crafted acting he gave onscreen. When you see him paranoid you believe it 100% because he seems so genuine and his emotional range is amazing to watch. He has so many layers to the character that uncovers as the film Goes on and it's great he was so expressive with his emotions he captivates you and doesn't let up for a second. He also has moments of heartbreak too you see tears stream down his face and his voice crack because of the trauma and pain inside him and it feels so real it gave me goosebumps by his incredible work in this film. Overall Daniel gave such a layered performance of emotion that truly captivated me not only is it a brilliant breakout performance but just w brilliant performance in general this is a performance people will be talking about.

Jordan Peele : Jordan is a brilliant director hands done one of the best directed films of the year thanks to this visionary! Jordan is known for his sketch comedy's so to hear him doing a film like this was great because he's branching out to do different things but also made me nervous because I didn't know if he could deliver such serious material which he isn't familiar with. Now I will tell you he dose a outstanding job helming this film giving a incredible film for his first time directing he knocks it out of the park with his work on this film. He captivates the audience by the characters and makes you like them and connect to them first then when he draws you in he brings in such intrigue and well written dialogue and storytelling you can't take your eyes off the screen. I love his ability to scare you and make it so effective without having very little blood and made it more psychological that's hard to do and he dose it so well. As well he tackles and has themes of serious tones in the film that he did so well he had themes of racial paranoia without delving to deep into it but still making it effective in the film as well as bits of isolation to keep you on edge. He just brought the perfect formula and crafted such a beautiful film that is incredibly original and one of the best screenplays of the year as well as one of the best directed films of the year. His style is so captivating he leaves you wanting more I really hope he gets an Oscar nomination for his directing on this film as well as his writing because it's some of the best wiring and directing I've seen in years overall Jordan is a visionary who gives an incredible film that will be talked about for years.

The Lighting : The tones and colours of this film were greatly used. It was very well put together colours of blue and grey and it works so well with the film. It has these great colours that bring the scene to life and then can go really dark and not know what's going to happen the tones were very well done worked incredibly well overall great job guys.

The Cinematography : The camerawork in this film was fantastic. For the most part the camerawork is your usual style of cinematography but theirs one scene that makes it stand out when the boyfriend is talking to his girlfriends mom as she's stirring tea. The way they shot it created such tension and really made you not want to look away the camera did a great job at keeping you on the edge of your seat not knowing what's around the corner. Overall the camera work was great.

The Score : the music in this film is terrific! The sounds were so loud and at times very creepy and it did its job it kept me engaged and on edge the entire time. It felt very ominous and brooding it just had this vibe and sound to it that was so unsettling but worked perfectly with the tone and scenes it is one of the best composed scores of the year and is a sore worth listening too I loved it.
