Michael Jackson : Searching For Neverland

Michael Jackson : Searching for Neverland
This film is a great insight into the last years of Jackson's life! This film has received some pretty harsh feedback due to the actor that portrays Michael who's played by Navi due to his British accent at times he dose not sound like the King of pop but for the most part I thought he was fantastic. As well as the actors who played the bodyguards were amazing Chad L. Coleman and Sam Adegoke. The film was able to capture things we didn't know that happened to Michael seen from the eyes of the bodyguards and it's truly captivating. This is a terrific bio pic and if you want to find out more about the moonwalker we all love this film is for you.

The story is told from the bodyguards perspective for when they worked for Michael Jackson from 2006 to 2009 and everything that happened in between

Rated 14A : language

Navi : Navi did a truly fantastic job in this film. This is Navi's first film that amazes me because he has such great acting abilities and range. He is a Jackson impersonator so he already knows how to walk and talk like Michael. But when you see him onscreen it looks just like Jackson he was able to capture the spirit and the personality of who Jackson was. Navi had incredible moments in the film where he showcases great range and acting. Their are so many subtle moments but one that really stands out for me which is when he's on the phone with one of the bodyguards and he is being so emotional and real. When I was watching that scene the exchange of words back and forth felt so real and genuine. I was so incredibly impressed by Navi in this film he really went the full 100 to give us the most authentic and true  Jackson performance possible. Navi truly shines in this film as the king of pop and no one could of played Jackson better in this film overall Navi delivers a truly great performance in this film.

Chad L. Coleman : Chad is amazing in this film! Chad plays the lead bodyguard on the film and wow is he captivating! He plays a father who is trying to stay home and spend time with the family but when this gig comes up he takes it and he protects Jackson with his life. The way Chad plays this onscreen is incredible the sneer emotions he was able to showcase onscreen was brilliant! You would see such depth to him. One moment he is smiling and joking around the next he's running after a guy to tell him to stay away with such anger in his voice the shifts Chad has in the film emotionally was so captivating to see. I haven't seen much of Chad's work but after seeing this I definitely will see his future work he's an incredible actor and is truly great in this film. Chad has some really great moments in the film where he showcases his acting muscles. One that really stood out to me was at the end when their talking about Jackson's death and he breaks down into tears and his voice is shaky he was so real onscreen their was no false note in that scene. Those tears seemed so real that I almost was crying from how he was delivering that scene. Overall Chad L. Coleman gives a terrific performance that shouldn't go unnoticed.

Sam Adegoke : Sam gives a fantastic supporting performance in this film. Sam is a actor who I have not heard of but after seeing him in this I'll definitely check out his future projects because he is amazing in this film. Sam plays the second bodyguard for Jackson who is the young one and has to look out for Jackson's interests and the way Sam was able to deliver it was great he had such real raw emotion to him. When he was in a scene he committed all the way and you couldn't take your eyes off him he just shined in every scene he was in. The emotional range he went through was fantastic. Their would be scenes when he's angry and the look in his eyes and the sound in his voice seemed so real then he could break your heart with the tears streaming down his face coming from such a real place. So his emotional arc in the film was incredible to watch he really brought his all and is incredible in their film and overall gives a tremendous supporting performance.

Dianne Houston : Dianne gave fantastic direction! The direction gave by Dianne was amazing and I'll tell you why. She covers the last years of Michael instead of his whole life so that she could just focus on one aspect of his life and make sure she got all the key moments of his life as accurate as possible. As well she didn't glamorize anything the struggles he went through she shows it for what it was and its heartbreaking at times to watch but she doesn't shy away from it at all. Then to add the fantastic acting talent she was able to get on bored for the film was perfect getting great performances from her actors. Dianne also shows great fun moments as well and gave the audience a bit of everything she gives you drama humour sadness and happiness so it isn't just one time their going for she's making sure she shows the good times and bad times that happened in his life and I loved that it was an emotional ride. Overall Dianne gave great direction on the film that should be noticed.

The Lighting : The tone of colour was very bright and stayed that way throughout the film. It had this blue bright vibe to it that really made the frame and the scenes pop out and I loved their use of it in the film overall great job guys.

The Score : The music was very low and beautifully done! It had this quiet melody to it that was so peaceful but loud enough you noticed it and it worked so well with the film I loved it.
