Movie Review : Deepwater Horizon

Deepwater Horizon
This film is emotional, thrilling, gripping and well acted from beginning to the last frame. As well as a fantastic performance from Mark Wahlberg this film is an emotional punch to the gut that will stay with you long after the film is done.

Tells the true story of the 2010 Oil Spill that went down as the worst oil Spill in U.S History

Rated PG - 13 : intense disaster sequences, related disturbing images and brief strong language

Mark Wahlberg : Mark delivers simply one of his finest performances of his career hands down. Mark has truly outdone himself in this disaster film he is truly electric onscreen. He showcases not only his great acting but also his emotional range to. By the end of the film the impact of this all just hits him and he breaks down in tears and it was heartbreaking to watch. It felt so genuine and real that kind of acting you don't think of as fake or off the page it's from the heart. When he speaks in sheer anger the look in his eye and tone in his voice is all real he's one hundred percent commuted to his role and I absolutely admire that. Overall Mark delivers one of his best performances I've ever seen.

Peter Berg : Peter is a true mastermind with the camera. Berg did the film lone Survivor another true story which also had Wahlberg. So I know right off the bat he's great at telling true story's and showcasing them well. He knocks it out of the dam park with this film he got the film to have heart and just show raw emotion from the cast and it's outstanding. Their was not one moment where  I wasn't interested it had me from beginning to end. Not only that Peter knows how to tug on your heart strings and get your emotions going and he did for me he dose that so well he gets you so invested in the film that you really feel the impact of it. That only talented and few director these days can do and Peter did that greatly. Overall great direction from Berg once again.

The Lighting : The way they showcased the colour pallet in this film was fantastic. It would be very blue or grey and it just brought this real sense to the picture that made it shine and pop out loved it great job guys.

The Cinematography: The camerawork on this film is amazing just brilliant. The shots of the Oil Rig was so well shot and really shows you the impact and horror that happened that night. Not only that but the ability the camera did by flickering the camera to make you feel like your eyes are wounded and can't see I loved how they brought that feel to it great job guys amazing.

The Score : Brought the emotions and feel to the picture alive. The music in this film is what helped express the emotion and sheer terror of the film. It worked perfectly with each frame brining beautiful pieces of music to the film loved it.
