Movie Review : Money Monster

Money Monster
This film was terrific I don't understand the backlash and hate towards this film. Is it a perfect movie no it's not. Dose of have flaws yes it dose but what it has that makes the film good is the great tension Jodie Foster is able to build onscreen with a grounded plot and surround the film with terrific performances. This film is an enjoyable political thriller.

When a mysterious man comes in a news network he is carrying a gun and straps a bomb to the news anchor threatening to blow him up if he dose not get the answer of why all of his money is gone and he's not leaving without an answer

Rated R : strong language, sexual content

Jack O' Connell : Jack gives a outstanding performance in this film! Jack proved to us that he is a force to be reckoned with in his 2014 war drama Unbroken. He shown it once again in this film giving a intense, emotional and gripping performance that you can't take your eyes off of. When I saw the trailer for this film I thought that George was going to be the big performance of the film I was pleasantly surprised that it was Jack and my god was I impressed. In this film he plays a guy who threatens to blow up the news anchor strapping a bomb vest on him along with carrying a handgun and won't leave until he gets the answer of why his money is gone. The way that Jack portrayed this character onscreen was brilliant pure brilliance. When he comes onscreen for the first time he engages the audience with his screen presence and gets them emotionally invested in his character. The sheer emotion that Jack brought to the character was great. If you look in his eyes he just wants an answer so basic and you buy into his performance because when he speaks it's so intense and so great it feels so genuine that it makes you feel for his character which he dose greatly in the film. He's just amazing in this film showing us once again that Jack is a actor that is committed to his craft amazing performance Jack.

George Clooney : George delivers a entertaining performance. George is known for choosing projects that he wants the world to see because it's always a serious topic if it's about Wall Street in this movie or In Argo he always strikes for the films that speaks out about serious topics which this film dose. He plays a news anchor and in the beginning he is very self centred and George plays it well then we see him transition into this very intense serious character that has learned things he never though possible  and the result is amazing. George always delivers great performances and he dose once again in this film. His ability to engage the audience with the witty dialogue and the sheer intensity in his voice and eyes he is purely invested in his character which is great it then results in a more convincing performance that feels real. By the half point of the film the sheer emotion he coveys is incredible he just became the character and it's fantastic overall George gives simply another fantastic performance once again.

Jodie Foster : Jodie Foster I haven't seen much behind the camera. I've seen her acting range in films such as Taxi driver, Silence of the lambs to name a few. Both great performances but I have never really seen her as a director so when I heard she was helming the project behind the scenes I was like ok I'd like to see how she can do. She didn't disappoint she was able to create nail biting tension in a plot that has been used so many times but she did it so well by the great actors she cast to the fantastic score she used that to create a thrilling tale and that's what she dose. Normally in this kind of thriller I can't stand it cause it's used so much in action films but she was so good at it I was so engaged I couldn't look away. She got me invested in the characters and the plot that's what I want from a director and she did it greatly overall great direction from Foster.

The Score : the music in this film drives the film really. It is quiet at times then when noticing the tension slowly starts to build up then just gets really loud I loved it. Captured the mood and tone greatly. Great score.
