Movie Review : The Conjuring 2

The Conjuring 2
This film had me shaking, jumping and gripping my seat! This is next level horror at its best. It's Terrifying and scary but is an outstanding piece of film. Which delivers the rare occasion where the sequel is better then it's predecessor! Giving the audiences   Great performances and great scares with an amazing film. One of the years best films.

Ed & Lorraine Warren investigate a case where a demon has overcome a girl in England and their is some devious spirt in the house but will they come out alive or have they made their maker?

Rated R : terror and horror violence

Vera Farmiga : Vera is marvellous in this film showcasing her great acting onscreen once again! Vera has amazed us with her performance in Bates Motel so we know she can captivate the screen and steal every frame with her performance and she dose so once again in this film. She last played Lorraine in 2013 breathing such life in her character. So seeing her do it again second time around she's gotten a better view on her character getting a better understanding of her role. In this film she gives an emotional performance that is genuine from beginning to end. The moment she is onscreen she steals the scene with her great acting range. The way she delivers her dialogue the look in her eyes she is in the moment for every scene giving the most real true portrayal of Lorraine she could give. Like her emotion was incredible in multiple scenes she'll be in tears and panicking and just the look in her eyes and tone in her voice it's real it dose not feel like it's acting. Her performance is incredible Vera delivers a scene stealing performance one again!

Madison Wolfe : This young actress gives a phenomenal performance for such a young age. Madison Wolfe is remarkable in this film I have never heard of her before seeing this and oh my god she was incredible. She plays the centre character of the film besides the investigators and she gives a very chilling and intense performance that is acted to near perfection. When she's onscreen she goes  to places with her character you wouldn't expect giving her all to this film. She can be sweet and innocent and then go really dark in seconds her eyes go dark her voice is so scary your hair on your arms stand up. She's able to really peel back layers of emotion showing her full acting method. As well as her line delivery she makes you believe she means what she says like the tears streaming down her face is heartbreaking and so real. For such young actress to commit so much of herself to her character and making it as real as possible is outstanding to see for such a young age. She is going places can't wait to see what films she has ahead in the future and can't wait to see more of her acting. Overall a terrific performance.

Patrick Wilson : Patrick gives once again another electric performance as Ed Warren! Patrick wowed us with his portrayal as the supernatural investigator in 2013 in the first film and succeeds in doing it once again in this film. He packs a emotional punch performance in this film and is truly amazing. Their are many scenes that make him standout in the film. In the film he's able to dip into his emotional side and make the audience get wrapped up in his performance to the point we are crying. He also is able to go dead serious within seconds just showing this intensity in his voice and his eyes he really excels in the Horror genre. Showcasing his talents best and what's great about him in these films is wee are able to see his acting range and see different layers to him we haven't seen before. In the film he is electric brining a sense of realism to when he spoke you are saying to yourself that it coming from his heart and not a script which is great it shows how far he's willing to go with bus performance to deliver a accurate and terrific performance as Es Warren which he makes look effortless. Overall Patrick gives a fantastic performance once again!

James Wan : James is a master of horror! His ability to be able to scare the audience and get in their heads is a talent only directors like Hitchcock and Kubrick could do. But he's able to do so he dose an amazing job stamping his signature of horror and suspense all over this film. He once again delivers a grounded plot with characters he gets the audience to invest in and care about. While keeping the horror style vibe in check. He scares audiences unlike any other director because just when you least expect it that's when he attacks with a scare. It's brilliant his directing style is amazing and his directing on this film is perfect only one person could do this film and its James his vision could only get this film to be done well and accurately. Overall directing at its best!

The Lighting : the tones of colours used in the film is fantastic brining this very greyish and dark tone that kept you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. They made the perfect colour mixture for the film always keeping you on edge and scared it was very dark and chilling feel to the picture it was perfect. It fit the frame incredibly well. Great job guys.

Cinematography : The shots in this film was captivating truly! The Way they expressed the film through the camerawork was so Incredibly well done. Their were shots where you felt you were in the middle of it. Just really interesting ways they shot on how to scare the audience it was creative I loved it Great job guys.

The Score : Haunting truly! The score was so important in the film it set up the moments and when you think you know something is going to happen the music tricks you and then hits you when you least expect it incredibly smart way to build a score. It was chilling and so eerie loved the melody and tune they created for the film fit it perfectly truly magnificent.
