Movie Review : Alice Through The Looking Glass

Alice Through The Looking Glass
This film is so good I don't understand the backlash it's getting towards the film. Sure it has its flaws but not every film is perfect it's a fantastic film to watch with the whole family. It's been so slammed by critics because with all due respect their taking it to seriously. Lewis Carol's vision for Wonderland is full of imagination and wonder which is what people loose when they get older. Let your inner child come out and you'll love this picture whoever likes a good time at the theatre will enjoy this film and it carries a great deep message it's probably even better then the first film.

Alice is now a sea captain and a lot has happened since she first fell down the rabbit hole. She's been summoned to come back to wonderland because since Alice has been away for so long so much has changed and could effect the future of wonderland as we know it.

Rated PG : fantasy violence,

Johnny Depp : he's even more Mad then ever as the Hatter! Depp channels the tea drinking hat maker perfectly in the first film he astonished us with his performance earning a Golden Globe nomination for his work on the film. In this film he shows us the Hatter's past and the sheer emotion he channels in the role is astonishing. What makes his performance different in this one from the first film is he's more serious and channels his emotional side more and it works well. He was able to bring multiple layers to this fantastic character without loosing the fun and crazy aspect that is the Hatter. In this film he can be really sad and upset and just the look on his face the look in his eyes and tone in his voice breaks your heart. He just makes it so genuine and real then he can go real dark and just make your hairs stand up straight he is fantastic in this role brining every ounce of his great acting abilities to this motion picture. Johnny dose a sublime job at showing the hatters more human side in this film and its outstanding overall Depp Wows us giving us a Fun time at the theatre once again.

Sacha Baron Cohen : Sacha gives a  surprisingly impressive performance! When I heard they cast Sacha for the role of time I was nervous he was going to play it funny but he did the role incredibly well. Brining a very dramatic and at times chilling presence to the screen I was very impressed with his well acted performance.  When he was onscreen he showcased multiple layers to his character showing a very human side but at the same time being dramatic and kinda scary stealing every frame. He just breathed life into the role overall a simply fantastic performance by Sacha.

James Bobin : James did a great job at staying to true to Lewis Carol's novel and Tom Burtons stylish feel and look of the film! James was able to deliver beautiful sets and amazing costumes and just that magical feel that Carol created so well in his Novel. James captured perfectly along as keeping the audience entertained with a intriguing plot. This film could of easily fallen apart but James was able to hold all of it together while delivering a great film overall great direction by James.

The Lighting :  The tones used in the film was fantastic! It was very bright and had that magical feel to the picture. Just that sense of wonder and creativity expressed through the tones of colours in the film. Overall great lighting guys.

The Score : The music in this film was fantastic! The score was able to express the feel and emotion of the film incredibly well great melody. But what really stuck out was the song Pink did called "just like fire" it suits the film perfectly having a great best amazing track for the film. Overall great music in this film.
