Movie Review : The Hateful Eight

The Hateful Eight
Quentin has created another masterpiece once again! Writing a grippy and bloody story surrounded with great performances from all over the board. Performances from Samuel L. Jackson to Jennifer Jason Leigh this film is Tarantino's  best since Pulp Fiction. It had the right amount of violence without it being to bloody great interesting characters and a gripping plot this film is one of the best films of the year.

John Ruth's orders is to bring Daisy Domergue to hang in red rock but when a stormy blizzard gets in the way they are to shelter at a cabin in the middle of no where with 6 other strangers they may not make it out alive to red rock after all

Rated R : bloody violence, disturbing images, sexual references and language

Samuel L. Jackson : Samuel delivers a fantastic performance once again! Samuel has always done well in Quentin's films such in films like Django Unchained and Pulp Fiction. Earning himself a BAFTA win and Oscar nomination for his performance in Pulp Fiction. So we know he dose best when he's working with QT and he dose it once again in this bloody western. When you see him onscreen in this film you can't take your eyes off him because the way he delivers his dialogue the emotion he delivers in the scene all of it is grade a genius acting at its best. The commitment that Jackson gives to you to believe he is this character is great because when he acts in this film I feel like he separates the character and himself from it and so all you see up their is the character and sure you know it's Jackson but you forget about that and just focus on his character that's how good he is. Then for the emotional aspect he was great one moment he could terrify you with a speech he's giving the strangers in the cabin the next he's laughing his ass off being a sarcastic wise ass and it's great to see that he can transition through those emotions so easily and make it look convincing. Overall Jackson delivers another fantastic performance.

Jennifer Jason Leigh :  A Oscar caliber performance from Jennifer! Jennifer gives hands down the best supporting actress performance of the year. When she was onscreen she dominated the scene with her great sharp dialogue and great emotional range and really slipping in the skin of the character and fully inhabiting the role. The makeup and costume they had for her character was fantastic it just added another layer to her and made me forget it was Jennifer up on the screen. When she spoke and was doing banter back and forth with her co stars onscreen you could feel the sheer emotion in her voice and know that she was in the moment giving it her all. She for sure deserves the Oscar for her terrific performance in this film overall a powerhouse performance from Jennifer.

Quentin Tarantino : The master dose his magic once again! Tarantino has a style of filmmaking that is so captivating and original it just draws you in with films like Django Unchained and Pulp Fiction. He dose it once again with this outstanding piece of film he created a great location for the film along with amazing performances from the cast and he really got you invested and to care about the characters. Along with a great screenplay with sharp dialogue Tarantino is a mastermind at writing and directing pictures so when he dose a film it might be a western, modern day or even a World War II epic you know it's going to be good because he puts his signature stamp on every film he dose and with this film dose it to perfection. It reminded me a bit of Reservoir Dogs with a mix of Django and the result is brilliant. He creates an environment in this film where anything can happen at any moment and it's fantastic he keeps you entertained and thinking throughout the whole film of how it will turn out overall Quentin has directed another cinematic masterpiece.

The Lighting : The tones of lighting in this picture was fantastic it was dirty, rough and just really made you feel like you were watching a western film Overall great job guys.

The Cinematography : The camera work on this film was fantastic! The angles used in this film really fit the frame well and captivated your attention with the great wide scoped shots. It got you in the moment of the film it was breathtaking overall one of the best cinematography I've seen all year.

The Score : A classical score to a bloody film and it's genius! The score for this film was a old fashioned western with a mix of some catchy tunes and the result is great it really fit the mood and helped the scene express itself and breath it was a great edition to the film overall great composed score.
