Movie Review : Concussion

Concussion
This film showcases a career's best performance from Will Smith. The film was great but I felt like it could of gone more in depth like Moneyball did so we could of understood more of what happened but I am still satisfied with the film. It deserves to be watched for the message that it delivers as well that moral rights and believing what you think is right like the truth is worth fighting for.

Dr Bennet Omalu discovers repetitive head trauma chokes the brain in Football

Rated PG -13 : language

Will Smith : Will delivers the best performance of his career he will definitely be in the talks for the best actor Oscar for his electrifying performance. Smith has delivered serious dramatic performances  in films such as Pursuit Of Happiness and Ali both films he received a Academy Award nominations for. So it comes to no surprise that Smith gives a strong dramatic performance thing is he passed all the expectations I had for him he really captivated me in this film with his scene stealing work in this film. From the way he walked and especially spoke his Nigerian Accent is astonishing Smith really got in the skin of Bennet Omalu and you forgot you were watching Smith that's how magnificent he is in this film. Every scene he is in he commits himself fully to getting wrapped up in every scene and aspect of it all showing different layers of his emotional range  it's pure genius. He will be so calm and collected in the next scene he's angry at a meeting and to see Will go through that transition was extraordinary. Their is no false not in his performance he's so genuine and real it feels real it dose not seem like acting onscreen the pain and frustration you see in him in this film dose not look acted when you can see that in a performance you know they have done a phenomenal job in the film by escaping in their role and delivering a scene stealing performance that deserves to be recognized and Smith deserves all of it for his outstanding performance in this film. Overall one of the best performances I've seen all year!

Peter Landesman : The direction was fantastic! I felt like he could of included more and gone more in depth to the facts cause I wanted to learn so much more but besides that it was a gripping story which he executes beautifully! The performances he got out of the cast was outstanding especially Will's standout scene stealing performance. He just hit it on the target perfectly their is not one moment your board or wanting the film to end because your so pulled into the film from its  shocking facts. He did a great job.

The Lighting : The tones used in this film was fantastic. It had this blueish creamy feel that made it just capture the environment of the film perfectly. Great job guys great tones used in this film.

The Cinematography : The angles used in this film was amazing the big scoped shots captured the scene greatly and played with the lens on a grand scale that captured your attention.  Great job guys nothing below excellence.

The Score : James Newton Howard creates a score piece that is a triumph that is played beautifully to the ears. When the scene is playing what you hear in the background is the well composed music that has been pieced together to fit the emotion of the film and it sure succeeds in doing that. James Newton Howard has created a magnificent score once again!
