Movie Review : 99 Homes

This film is Outstanding! The performances given from Andrew Garfield and Michael Shannon is acting at its best. The film is emotional, greatly told and all around fantastic one of the best performance pictures of the year!

A father struggles to get his financial life in order so he goes to any measures to make sure his family has a roof over their head and food in their mouths

Rated R : for language including some sexual references, and a brief violent image

Andrew Garfield : Andrew shows his dramatic side once again and it is magnificent! Andrew show’s to us he is able to deliver a great dramatic performance in the film The Social Network giving a scene stealing performance in that. And he does it once again tapping into that emotional acting that we have loved seeing from him and it is amazing in this film. When he is onscreen in this film he breaks your heart with the passion and anger you see in his soul in his scenes in this film. He was so captivating he really grabbed your attention with his dialogue and he just fully immersed himself in each scene. So when he spoke the anger and sadness you see in his eyes and voice is so genuine and real there is not one false note in his performance. Overall Andrew delivers a Oscar worthy performance that deserves to be recognized.
Michael Shannon : A scene stealing performance from Shannon that will be a contender for the Oscars for sure. Shannon once again shows us his ability he can captivate the audience with his performance and he makes it look effortless. I have always loved seeing him in dramatic roles he dose them all the time but I always see there is something missing from his performance. And in this film he found that one piece he has been missing and delivered a phenomenal performance. When you see him onscreen in the film the way he spoke and the look in his eyes he just was one hundred percent committed and real onscreen. His emotion in it was fantastic he could be smiling one minute the next he is so serious that you can see  it in his eyes is absolutely amazing. When he was onscreen he dominated it with his great acting and he definitely deserves all the award attention he gets. Overall Shannon gives a Extraordinary supporting performance in this marvelous film.

Ramin Bahrani : This director deserves to be recognized in Hollywood for his outstanding direction on this film. This director dips into really serious topics and he brings his message out on film and that is what he shows here brilliantly. While bringing out great performances from the cast and stand out performances from Andrew Garfield and Michael Shannon. The way he executes the film and tells the story is amazing.  Theirs a style he brings to the scree that is so refreshing and new he is definitely a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood. He knows how to get you to care about the characters and care about the story he just gets all the pieces in the right place greatly Overall great direction nothing below excellence.

The Lighting: The tones used in the film were fantastic! It really brought the screen to life with mixing the colours with the emotional drive of the film. Great job guys loved the lighting.

The Cinematography:  The camera work was amazing on the film! The way they shot the scene and just put so much into the scene and just expressed it so well was brilliant. I loved the camera work just really was another character in the film fantastic job guys loved it.

The Score: The music composed for this film was so beautifully done and fit the frame perfectly alone with the tone. It just really helped express the emotion when the scene couldn’t. the score was just fantastic.
