Movie Review : The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
This film shook up the Horror genre and changed it forever and would never be the same. Tobe Hooper created a sadistic, disturbing and terrifying character which once seen with the human eyes would never be erased from the brain. Leatherface a chainsaw wielding maniac who terrorized people. This plot and just the overlook of the film to me is the most disturbing films I've ever seen not for the reason for Leatherface. But if you watch it you think to yourself this isn't aliens, zombies it's a guy with a weapon who just snaps and anyone could do it its realistic and to me that brings another layer  of creepiness to it. Also its loosely based on a true story which is disturbing to find out they someone would commit these Horrific things. This film will be remembered for years to come for sure is one of the best horror films of all time.

A bunch of teens drive through Texas having a smooth ride their. Until they come across that after they pick him up they terrify them so much they throw out then after that the bloodshed really starts including chainsaw murdering and the chase to survive through the night.

Rated R : strong gory violence, disturbing images, language

Marilyn Burns : Her performance as Sally is so good and believable it's hard not to love her performance. This film was running into so much issues filming the movie. That it is very hard to separate Sally's terror in the film to off screen. Because it terrified everyone. So I wouldn't be surprised if the emotions that Marilyn was delivering onscreen was genuine. Because who wouldn't be terrified of someone chasing you with a chainsaw they wouldn't require acting I would be giving my real response. And what she gives in this film is sheer terror that you believe she's in so much pain because her acting was 110% their and nothing seemed fake she really just got into the moment of it all and became that character. She will live on in horror film history of one of the best lead actress performances In a horror film. Just amazing great job Marilyn.

Tobe Hooper : Tobe gives one of the finest direction in the cinematic horror. He created a original story that hasn't been done before. At the same time giving great characters onscreen with a terrorizing character that would later become one of the most iconic villains in history. He created such terror onscreen that some people had to leave the theatre it was so disturbing and not many directors can do that to the audience. He did such a good job that once you watch this film the images you have seen in this film will never be erased for your mind. Only a truly great director can do that. Nothing short of excellent direction great job Tobe.

The Lighting : Very bright and warm looking. Since its shot in Texas of course it's going to be warm but the way the lighting was used was very well done. It had this warm orangish feel to the picture that helped the film and fit the frame perfectly. It was great for the backdrop of the film loved the tones in this film great job guys.

The Cinematography : Great camerawork in this film theirs some great shots in this film but theirs only one that really stood out to me and so many others. The scene when Leatherface takes his chainsaw and winds it up over his head and is sort of dancing with it I thought it was very well done. It will be burned in my memory for as long as I live. Because it's one of my all time favourite shots I've seen ever. Outstanding cinematography guys loved every minute of it.

The Soundtrack : They had songs from multiple Artist to help set the tone of the story right and it really helped the story. I loved the music not amazing but it was good.
