Movie Review : Friday The 13th

Friday The 13th
This film is one of the pioneer films that started that helped define the slasher genre. With its well done score piece to one of the most iconic likeable character known as Jason. Obviously he's not the machete wielding maniac in this film but it in many ways is the origin that started his spree of bloodshed. This film is a film that is watched every year by Horror fans and is the longest horror franchise in history. This film is the film that started it all this is Friday The 13th!

This film tells the story of a group of teenage who goes up to a lake called camp crystal lake to be camp counsellors for the summer. It's all fun and games until they discover people disappearing and the body count building.

Rated R : bloody violence, some nudity and language

Adrienne King : Her performance as the lead character in this film is terrific. Theirs been many characters in the franchise but few were likeable that had great character arcs and likeable personalities and that's what King's character separates from the others. She really drove the film with her fantastic likability and great line delivery to her amazing emotional range. For a actress who isn't really that well known and doesn't have that much film experience to give such a strong performance is fantastic. When she was onscreen you didn't to see her dead you wanted to see her live through this scaring night. She would be the sweetest person in one scene having fun then the next she would be running from the killer in fear. She played all of her emotions so well loved her performance so well done great job King.

Sean S. Cunningham : He did a fantastic job at creating a thrilling story with a memorable villain that would stand the test of time. He had a great horror film around great likeable characters. At the same time not loosing sight of the violent aspect of it. He did a excellent job at making tension and suspense onscreen so you would sink in your seat getting scared biting your nails. And then with a great score piece that would make the setting of the film creepy and eerie. Overall loved his direction so very well done.

The Lighting : This film had a summer feel to the picture but then would go dark and eerie get a chill down your spine it was great at getting you in the moment loved it great job guys.

The Cinematography : theirs one shot that was amazing. Alice is in a canoe and Jason grabs her and drags her in the water it's a quiet iconic scene it has just stuck with me. Not any other shot stood out like that one. Overall some great shots.

The Score : chilling and eerie the theme song they created for this film is iconic and well composed. It is creepy it fits the film so perfectly and strikes fear in the advances heart. Getting the feeling you won't know what will happen next bucking up the tension so well in every scene. Great job I loved it one of my all time pieces of music for film.
