Movie Review : Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs
This film is an all around fantastic film! Surrounded with terrific performances from Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet, Jeff Daniels and Seth Rogan. Along with great direction by Oscar winning director Danny Boyle and genius screenwriter Aaron Sorkin. This film is not to be missed one of the years best is cinematically amazing.

This film is about the career of genius mastermind Steve Jobs

Michael Fassbender : Fassbender delivers a fantastic performance! He gave one of the years best performances in last years film 12 years a slave so it wouldn't be a surprise that He would deliver another award caliber performance. His portrayal of Steve Jobs was nothing short of amazing. The makeup they applied to him he looked like Steve Jobs like I actually at times forgot I was watching Fassbender perform and thought I was watching Steve Jobs. for a critic to see that in a actors performance of them to fully immerse themselves in their role is fantastic to see. So for his performance in the film he hit all the targets on point with great sharp dialogue while delivering a great emotional performance and make it look so convincing. Because when you watch Michael's performance in this film you can't take your eyes off him he just steals the scene with his lines and the magic of his great acting. One of the best performances I've seen of his and of this year.

Kate Winslet : Kate delivers  another outstanding performance once again! Kate has shown us in the past she can deliver award caliber performances in her films like Revolutionary Road, Titanic, And then her Oscar winning performance in the reader so we know she can dominate the screen with a strong entertaining performance. She plays Steve Jobs assistant in the film and she just gets underneath the skin of this great character. She could be the quiet voiced Winslet in one scene. Then the next she's completely emotionally driven by the scene she's just soaking herself in every aspect of the scene. Won't be surprised come January a Oscar nomination knocks on her door for best supporting actress. She was so entertaining to watch she could be tough as nails in the scene but break down in tears and the way Kate plays it is outstanding. Another great performance from Kate once again.

Seth Rogan : A surprising brilliant supporting performance. Seth Rogan is known for doing these comedies with crude jokes and with his buddies Craig Robinson, Danny McBride and James Franco. So to see him shift from comedic to dramatic role is very nice to see it's refreshing to see something different from him. Watching Rogan in this film is very entertaining because I didn't think that Rogan would be able to deliver a solid dramatic supporting performance because his shtick is comedy not drama and to see him excel in drama like in this film is fantastic. When he's onscreen he brings that Rogan charm we see in all of his films but he mixes it with serious dialogue and he plays it off so well you become fully focused and impressed in him when he's onscreen because he's that good. When he spoke you believed he was upset at Jobs because we was so in the moment. Overall A great career turning performance for Rogan. This might bring Rogan his first Oscar nomination it could be to good for the Academy to ignore this great performance.

Jeff Daniels : A all around genius performance by Daniels. Jeff did the blockbuster bomb dumb&Dumber Too and it was such a  disappointing film. so to see him back in full force in this terrific  drama film was great. He wasn't in the film much but when he was he gave his all he didn't hold anything back. He had great dialogue and had such great emotional range this performance showed us again how Daniels is a great actor especially in the drama genre. Like his performance in the Newsroom the show he won the Emmy for so we know he can deliver a good performance when he wants to and he shows it once again in this film. In the film he could be the wisest voice talking to Steve then be the loudest person in the room his soul filled up with hate and anger. And Jeff did it so well you just believe every word that's coming out of his mouth. He just fully commit himself to this role he did a fantastic job wasn't in the film much but used the small role he had in the film and stole the Scene with his great acting. Overall Jeff Daniels delivers a Oscar worthy performance.

Danny Boyle : Danny creates another masterpiece once again! Boyle has proved to us that he is a exceptional director in films he's done such as Slumdog Millionaire which won him the Oscar for best director and best picture along with 6 more Oscars that night. Then he did 127 Hours which was a fantastic film with a great performance from Franco. So we know that Danny can deliver a outstanding picture and he dose once again in this film. He got great performances from his cast, amazing cinematography great lighting he just hit all the cylinders on full force. He makes the film so entertaining to watch he doesn't miss a beat. What makes his direction so good and watchable is he creates a great plot line surrounded with interesting characters while getting top notch performances from his cast. Theirs not much directors left out their that can juggle all that. He did this film justice no other director I could imagine would of been able to do such a good job with this film only Boyle could of created such a work of art. He never disappoints I won't be surprised if this film earns him a nomination at the Oscars for best director overall great direction once again by Boyle.

The Writing : Aaron Sorkin wrote another genius screenplay once again! He wrote the screenplay for the phenomenal film The Social Network. In that film he wrote the greatest dialogue for the actors so much so it won him the Oscar for his work on that film. Again he wrote another great script with amazing dialogue between the actors he is just so unique and different. I haven't seen such a gift screenwriter since the Coen brothers. He just knows the feel and flow of the scene and fits it so perfectly right with well written dialogue. I won't be surprised if he walks home with the Oscar for his work on this film. Another great screenplay by mastermind Sorkin.

The Lighting : One of the best tones of lighting I've seen all year! I'm not just saying that i am saying that because what made it so good and unique is that the films period of the film is in the 80's and 90's and they used the old Technicolor back in the 70's. Because when you watch it you can obviously see they used that type of lighting and it didn't just fit the frame of the film so perfectly it played a a character of the film to set the tone of the scene perfectly. Great job guys one of the best lighting I've seen all year.

The Cinematography : Visually stunning, truly beautiful. The angles used in this film was truly outstanding. They had so many great shots I'll just name a few. Theirs a great shot of the camera looking over the seats of the building the way they shot it it all was great. It left me speechless it was extremely well done. It was so good I can't think of what to write I can't form words to say it was that good overall outstanding camerawork.

The Score : The music played in this film really helped set the tone and feel of the picture. It was very well composed loved the music great score piece. It would be very high key then just one singular beat I loved it great job.
