Movie Review : Kingsman The Secret Service
Kingsman : The Secret Service
This film is one of my favourite films of the year! This thrilling movie keeps you on the edge of your seat with mind blowing action sequences, an intruding plot massive sets and great performances. This film defiantly did surprise me it brought this freshness and originality that was compelling to watch. This film is the best spy film I have seen since James Bond's From Russia With Love!
When a talented young man gets recruited by a unknown and top secret organization. He is trained to become the next Kingsman to save the world from a tech genius lunatic.
Rated R : Sequences of strong violence, language and some sexual content
Taron Egerton : An amazing breakout performance! Before I saw this film I haven't even heard of the actor. After seeing his entertaining performance in this film I would definitely check out his future projects. He brought such a fresh breath of air to this role. He plays Eggsy a young blood kid from the streets who has strengths that got beyond the normal mind but he doesn't put good use to it until he gets recruited. And the way Taron played the role was so believable and fun to watch one minute he would he making a smart ass remark then within seconds be right in the moment with serious dialogue. So to see a actor this young with this great talent is rare to come across Overall I loved his performance.
Colin Firth : A smooth and great genuine performance! I have not seen Colin portray this sort of character before which was new and surprising. Because he dose mostly dramatic roles such as his Oscar Winning performance in The Kings Speech, Devils Knot and the Railway Man so it was nice to see him try something new and different for a change. And he pulled it off so well he was a badass onscreen with well choreographed sequences, sharp dialogue and great chemistry with Taron onscreen. He just brought this character to life like Firth always dose when he plays a character. Seeing him in this film I would love to see him do more action movies because he can play them really well. Overall another great performance once again.
Samuel L. Jackson : One of the best supporting performances of the year! Jackson is known for playing a badass, villain and mostly a angry driven character. But in this film he is all of that but isn't mad he dose it in a way that it's creepy which Is the brilliance of his acting. When you watch him Samuel brings such a believable and convincing performance. The thing that Samuel brought to the character that was so intriguing to watch was he was able to charm you with his smile and voice but the thing that's scarier then ever is his character thinks he's doing the right thing for the world by destroying it which I find terrifying. And the way Samuel shows that onscreen was insanely rich he just got in the mind of this character and fully inhabited The character. I think it's one of his finest performances to date overall loved his performance.
Matthew Vaughn : a Better then Kick-Ass! After I saw his triumph doing a Kick-Ass I knew their was no other film he could do that could top it. I was so wrong he gave this film a rich flavour of 1960's bond type style to the picture with gory violence and the result was amazing. He didn't make the film like Bond or Bourne of any of those suspense thrillers and classic spy films. This film is it's one film it doesn't copy any other type of film which is so great about it. Only Matthew could of directed this film. He has this certain style of filmmaking that's really interesting it's very original and fresh he shows you something you haven't seen before every time which I think is brilliant. Overall another great film by Matthew once again.
The Lighting : Love love love the choices for the tone of colour they chose for the film! It had this rich kind of goldish, old fashioned spy feel to the picture which was great. It made the scenes pop out more and just shine which was nice overall I loved it great job guys.
The Cinematography : Some worth mentioning shots all the action sequences filmed in this movie was amazing! The camera felt like you were the person running with Colin in the middle of the fight. Or they used different angles to make the fight more intense and gritty I loved it great job guys.
The Score : The music by Henry Jackman &Matthew Margeson was beautiful! This score was a piece of art it fit the tone of the film perfectly. The music would build up the adrenaline or as the emotions and the music would use different instruments to create a piece of music to get you in the moment. The score speaks volumes I loved it great job guys.
