Movie Review : Serpico

Serpico
This film was outstanding! From the scene stealing performance from Al Pacino to the intriguing story this film is one of the best dramas I have ever seen!

The true story about a honest Cop who brought awareness to Police Corruption.

Rated R : disturbing scene, some violence & Strong language

Al Pacino : Gives one of the best performances of his career! The intensity and fearless she brought to this role was incredible. He got well known in the 1970's for taking the role of Michael in  Francis Ford Coppola's cinematic masterpiece The Godfather. Which got the attention of Hollywood and put him on the map but the performance he gives in this film threw him into the stars. The sharp dialogue he delivers, the way he looked he looked just like the real Frank Serpico. Whenever Al is in a film he dedicated himself to his character 110% every time. The emotional motive of his character is I want my voice to be heard and stop this terrible cause. And the way Al shows it onscreen was amazing. He doesn't pretend to play those emotions he taps into his own and shows it onscreen so when you see him angry or happy he's putting a part of himself in that character which makes this performance memorable. Overall another fantastic performance by Pacino once again.

Sidney Lumet : Sidney gives outstanding direction. Sidney did a great job at directing this film he had a great cast, got a powerhouse performance out of Pacino he chose great locations to film the movie, great costumes all of it was brilliant. He got you so soaked up in the story that he has you cheering in the end. Once the credits rolled he had you from the start to the finish. Overall great direction

The Lighting : the lighting style was very modern. It's a drama so it's bright at times then when it got to emotional scenes the lighting would go more grayish  or darker. Great lighting tones great job guys.

The Cinematography : some shots worth mentioning! When Serpico try's to pry open the door with his hand and you see scratches appear on his hand you feel the adrenaline and intensity of the scene it was very well shot. Great job guys.

The Score : very well composed film! The music was very soft and gentle and sometimes the music would take over the scene and you would just hear the music it was wonderful. The music was soft and expressed it's emotions  through it's music great job guys.
