Movie Review : The Hunger Games : MockingJay Part 1

The Hunger Games : MockingJay Part 1
This film was a great sequel to this outstanding film franchise! Many critics have given this film poor reviews but remember Mocking jay is about Katniss fighting back it's not another round of the games that's over it's now about the conflict with the capital and how one voice can change the world. That's what I enjoyed about this film it didn't need violence and gore to entertain you it just needed a intriguing and compelling story to entertain you. This film had great performances from Jenifer, Josh&Liam. This is one of the best films of the year!

After the 75th Hunger Games Katniss is hiding in a secret district District 13 she then becomes the symbol of the rebellion and is set on getting Peeta back.

Rated PG - 13 : intense sequences of violence some disturbing images and thematic material

Jennifer Lawrence : She delivers  such a convincing and entertaining performance  once again! She puts all of her emotion in this role which is fantastic but what was new that she brought to the table in this one was Anger in the last two she was driven by courage and hope which she shows in this one two but we get to see her full of rage and anger which really show in this film. She's trying to recover from two games which is twice the stress and post dramatic stress then when she finds out all of what the capital and president snow is doing she falls apart then comes back with a roar of courage. Which Jennifer dose a incredible job of showing onscreen. When she's onscreen she has your attention from her great dialogue to her great emotion she gets you so wrapped up in the film. Which is great she gets you to feel the emotion she's going through the pain all of it so you experience with her. Not many actors I watch onscreen can do that and Jennifer dose a fantastic job of showing that. Overall I loved her performance.

Josh Hutcherson : He gave such a emotionally gripping performance! Josh isn't in this film as much as Jennifer so when he's onscreen he makes most of his screen time with his very well written dialogue and great emotion and acting abilities. When I said josh stepped up his game In Catching fire and how he improved his performance in this one he dominated the screen with his acting. The way he could grab your attention with the tone of his voice and the emotion on his face it was outstanding. He really knew how the character felt in they moment  and just got underneath the skin of the character Phenomenal performance.

Francis Lawrence : He once again delivers another great sequel with great action sequences and scene stealing performances. When the trailer for MockingJay Part 1 got released on the internet I was nervous and happy at the same time cause MockingJay is my favorite book of the series. So I wanted Francis to do the film justice and hoped it was going to be a great film. So when I saw the film I was blown away with how Francis was able to balance the drama and at the same time make this film feel darker but not loose the magic of the Hunger Games universe. I thought he did that very well also the locations, the music&lighting was just wonderful. He got great performances out of his actors. Francis is the best choice to direct this wonderful franchise because he is a great storyteller and is great at telling this  intriguing story filled with wonderful characters & action sequences. He doesn't veer off and make the film completely different then the novel no he stays true to the novel which I think is great. Great direction by Francis once again.

The Lighting : the lighting in the film was great since this film is much darker then the other films they used this grayish tone to the picture that fit the picture perfectly. Great job guys.

The Cinematography : Some shots worth mentioning the security of the rebellion are in their uniforms on their mission near the end of the film it was great how they shot it. They created great suspense and made you feel like you were with them loved it great job guys.

The Soundtrack : The music chosen for this film was fantastic. The great songs include Yellow Flicker Beat by Lorde and so much more. This soundtrack fits tone of the film perfectly definitely worth downloading on iTunes.
