The Judge
This film was outstanding the powerful performances by Downey Jr&Duval were great. The story was very grounded and interesting. This is one of the best films  this year!

A hotshot Chicago lawyer travels to his hometown for his mothers funeral but when a incident occurs with his father he stays and try's to put the  pieces together of what happened.

Robert Downey Jr : This is his best performance to date! The raw emotion he delivered was fantastic. The chemistry he had with Duvall onscreen was great they convinced you that they actually were father and son. It was nice to see Downey do another drama because I haven't seen him in a serious role like this since Chaplin. The way he consumed himself in the role was great. It was so convincing It didn't even look like he was acting it looked like he put his real pain into this character. And it was great to see Downey's character has so many layers of emotion he shows Anger, Sadness it was great the way Downey showed it onscreen. He defiantly deserves a Golden Globe and a Oscar nomination for this phenomenal performance. Amazing performance Downey.

Robert Duvall : great performance by Duvall once again. He plays the father role very well. When he was onscreen with Downey the chemistry was just their. He did a great job at being the father of having issues with his son. Well it's no surprise he gave a great performance Because when Duvall
gets into character if it's The Godfather or Apocalypse Now. He disappears into the role and becomes that character feeling the emotions that the character feels which is outstanding. The way he delivered his dialogue It was all their another great performance by Duvall.

David Dobkin : David did  outstanding direction on this picture. He did a big turn in his career with this film because I'm so used to seeing him directing all those comedies like  2011's The Change-Up or 2005's Wedding Crashers so when I saw this film I was blown away. He got great performances out of his actors and beautiful locations for the film. He built great tension and drama from this compelling story. He did a fantastic job on this film I hope to see him do more dramas in the future.

The Lighting : The Lighting style for this film was wonderful. When Downey is driving through his hometown it's bright and has a positive vibe. But when it had a scene with Downey and Duvall in the beginning of the film   it was more lower tone to the picture. By the end of the film when it had scene
with both of them in it it was colorful again so I liked how they used the lighting as a character in the film. Great job guys.

The Cinematography : Some worth mentioning shots in this film. When Downey is back in his hometown  he grew up in I liked the way the camera looked around and explored the town throughout the film. Very well done great job guys.

The Score : Thomas Newman makes another beautiful Piece of music once again. The tracks in the film that really stood out was Indiana and Phantom Witness. The way he expressed the emotion of the characters through the music was great. He made it feel very positive and upbeat at times then the music would be very calm and mellow. I loved it definitely worth downloading on iTunes
