Movie Review : 127 Hours

127 Hours
Danny Boyle creates once again another outstanding film. With a very powerful performance by James Franco. The sparkling dialogue and beautiful locations easily makes this film one of the best films of the year.

Aron Ralston is a mountain climber and gets his arm stuck under a boulder. He has only a backpack and few supplies will he survive?

Rated R : language & disturbing content

James Franco : He delivers a fantastic performance the emotion he portrays onscreen is so convincing. I have seen some of Franco's work over the past films like Pineapple Express, This is The End, the Spider-man trilogy. But none of his past work compares to the excellence  he shows onscreen as Aron Ralston. This performance is very much like Tom Hanks genius performance in Cast Away. When he's stuck down with a boulder under his arm Franco makes you believe that he is in true pain and wants to get out because he wants to live he doesn't want to die. And the way he portrays those emotions was outstanding. Overall Brilliant performance James.

Danny Boyle : This is the best work he's done since Slumdog Millionaire. When I saw Slumdog Millionaire I said he will never top this film theirs just no way. But I was so wrong he captures lighting in the bottle once again. He got a powerhouse performance by Franco great locations and a beautiful score. Also the way the film was cut and edited was genius. The way he created drama and entertained  you with just one actor being in the same place for the whole film was amazing and that's hard to pull off. Danny Boyle creates once again another great film. Great job.

The Lighting : It was genius the lighting technique they used. It would be very colorful and cheerful in the upbeat scenes. When it got emotional they would use the same lighting just bring the brightness down. So you wouldn't loose believing that he can get out and through every dark night comes a sunrise I think that's what they tried to achieve.

The Cinematography :  It was outstanding when Aron goes down the waterfall in the canyon the way the shot it was breathtaking. Also When Aron is stuck down in the canyon it feels like your down their with him experiencing it with him. I loved it. Great job.

The Score : It was very beautifully scored. The emotion that the music delivers was great. In many ways it was a character in the film without the score the film wouldn't have the performances and tension seem so real. When it was upbeat it would be loud and cheerful. When it was emotional it would be low key. The score fit the film perfectly. It is defiantly worth downloading on iTunes.
