Movie News : A Year In Review

A Year In Review
Editors Note
Today marks my one year anniversary of my website. So to celebrate I will be writing a one year in review of what has happened in the film industry.

MPAA allows the F word once in PG - 13 rated films
Earlier last year the MPAA announced that PG - 13 rated films are allowed to use the F word at least once in a film. If it's used jokingly or like in a angry sense it cannot be used in a sexual context. If theirs more then one F word it is considered R.

JJ Abrams Directs Star Wars 7
When the news came out last year that Star Wars 7 was in the works I so shocked but also excited. This piece of news will probably one of the biggest news I have ever heard the film industry announce in my entire life. One of the most iconic franchises in pop culture being brought back to the screen was huge when that news came out. So when they started looking for directors Quentin Tarantino, Jon Faveru,JJ Abrams. When JJ Abrams announced he was going to direct the new Star Wars it wasn't as much as a shock to me because he directed the Star Trek reboot in 2009 and the sequel Star Trek Into Darkenss.

Argo Wins Best Picture At Oscars
This was the year that Django Unchained, Lincoln, Silver Linings playbook all came out. So when the best picture award was presented by Michelle Obama I assumed the award would of gone to Lincoln or Life Of Pi. But when I heard Argo I was very surprised because the film got a lot of negative comments. The critics mad audience didn't like how they made it look like the Canadians did nothing and the Americans did everything. Also Tehran was going to sue of the way they were portrayed in the film. I would of thought Life Of Pi because it won 4 Oscars including the Best Director Oscar.

Ben Affleck New Batman
When the news came out that Ben would be the new Dark Knight Twitter and other sources of social media exploded in shock. Many people thought if their ever was another film of the Dark Knight that Christian Bale would reprise his role. But he said that he wouldn't go back to that role because he doesn't want to be known as that role for the rest of his career. Their have been many actors who have portrayed Batman over the years Micheal Keaton, George Clooney,Val Kilmer Christian Bale, Ben Affleck. Over the years some of the portrayals of Batman have been surprisingly good but in my opinion Bale tops them all. But I'll give Affleck a chance because he's a great actor and director so we will see. BatmanVS Superman was supposed to be released  in 2015 bit was pushed back due to negative feedback. You can except this film to come out around 2016.

  1. I am not happy to hear PG13 allows the use of the F word now. That should only be in 14A or higher...lots of use should be an R rating. Your reviews have gotten better over the past year....Congrats!!
