Movie Review : Captain America The First Avenger
Captain America The First Avenger
This film is one of the best Marvel films ever made! The acting by Chris and the entire cast was incredible. From the set design down to the costumes. This film was very well directed and just a great film all around.
This tells the story of Steve Rogers a young kid raised in Brooklyn who wants to join the military but gets denied multiple times. He is then offered a opportunity to be part of this top secret project. That makes his body stronger run faster and earns the name Captain America.
Rated PG - 13 : intense sequences of action & Frightening Scenes
Chris Evans : He gave the best comeback performance as a superhero! He is known for his role as Johnny Storm in 2005 - 2007 Fantastic Four then after that franchise ended he wasn't seen in any superhero films. Then when I saw the trailer for Captain America The First Avenger I just got excited.Because he was one of the main reasons why I liked Fantastic Four because the way Chris portrayed this wonderful character and brought this spirit to it. So when I went to the theaters and viewed the film I thought Chris was going to do this role justice and do a great job. In my opinion I thought he did a fantastic job at portraying this famously well known character. The spirit and life he breathes in the character is great how he shows his emotion through his eyes is so striking and emotionally captivating because just looking at his facial expressions you can see the hurt and pain. Also the sparkling dialogue he delivers is wonderful. When he is in the Captain America outfit you can just see the spirit he brings to the role and how he just gets under the skin of this character and becomes him which is great. When he's onscreen with that outfit you can't turn away it's a great performance as one of the most memorable characters in history. I love this performance very well done.
Hayley Atwell : Her performance as the tough love interest was great. She gave such a great performance emotionally because one minute she's in tears the next she's mad at Rogers so it's great that she can switch that on/off easily. When Chris and her were onscreen together the emotion felt stronger and more real I loved it. I think they perfectly cast her she did a great job I haven't seen her before I saw this film but I would defiantly check out some of her other work. Great performance.
Hugo Weaving : Best villain performance since the Matrix! Hugo has been in some great films over the years such as the Matrix,Lord Of The Rings etc. He's a man of many faces when I watched him in this film I thought he did a excellent job at portraying the villain of the film. The eom iron and anger he has in himself is terrifying and he shows they brilliantly onscreen. The makeup they applied to his face was amazing great job.
Joe Johnston : Best comeback direction I have seen in a while. Joe directed the massive flop Jurassic Park 3 which left me with a bad taste in my mouth. So when I heard he was going to direct Captain America I was thinking " oh no this film is going to be horrible" . I was so wrong he directed one of the best Marvel films I have ever seen with the great detailed sets to the stylish costumes he did a great job. He definitely redeemed himself.
The Lighting : It took place in the past so it had this great period piece feel to the picture which I thought was great. It had this different style of lighting I haven't seen before all I know is I loved it. Great job guys.
The Cinematography : It was very well shots! The scenes where the action sequences would took place. The angles would be all over and try new shots to get you in the action which was great. Great job guys.
The Score : Since it's a period piece film you would expect a kind of old feel to the picture and that's what the gave. When it was a more low tone scene the music would be low but have great emotion to the scene. The score was extraordinary this score is worth downloading on iTunes.
