Rambo : Last Blood 

This is a pulse pounding thrill ride from the beginning to the end! Sylvester Stallone once again has done it again by bringing to us another well crafted Rambo film as this film has been getting bad reviews and I don’t understand why it’s an action franchise with large amounts of bloody violence and I know that going into it that it will have that and I also enjoyed it because it wasn’t a confusing complex narrative to follow it was very straight forward. It sure at times can feel like it mirrors the taken films from a certain point of view but besides that the film really is a well done action extravaganza with amazing action sequences and surprising amounts of deep emotional depth I didn’t expect as well. This film has heart action and is a hell of a good time to be had. 

First off, This film is Brutal and in the sense of action I mean that as when their is action it goes for it they don’t give you low brow action they have some of the most pulse pounding action sequences I’ve seen so far this year with very bloody violence but that’s also what we come to expect from this franchise Anyway. The film doesn’t rely on the violence or action to move the story forward or actually has a really compelling story at the heart of it that keeps you intrigued throughout the film and the action is the burst of anger shown from Rambo but it doesn’t just show violence just cause it dose it when theirs a reasoning for it. So I thought that was smartly done through the film as yes action is cool but to much action can be killer and get in the way of the story you are trying To tell and it never ran into that problem here which was brilliant. 

Secondly, Rambo Last Blood brings John into new territory with his character as we the audience know he suffers from PTSD from the war and so he doesn’t leave his ranch as he knows he can’t really control himself or his anger when he’s in society due to his self control he has is quite hard for him and so the film hit this really deep emotional daughter father narrative I didn’t see coming as I thought this film would be your straight forward action flick but the film does get you to walk away thinking about things as it does have things to say and they have great compelling emotional parts to the film that really get you soaked up in the film as well as getting Stallone  to find new places emotionally to take the character which I didn’t know they would do and I was pleasantly surprised by that. 

Lastly, Rambo Last Blood is one of the most entertaining action films I’ve seen all year with the legendary Stallone at the centre giving a whole new side to this character we’ve come to love with great deals of emotional depth in the story a whole lot of heart but also a ton of jaw dropping action to keep you entertained all the way through Rambo Last Blood is a blast and a truly fun film to watch I definitely recommend people go check this film out. 

This film centres on John Rambo many years later as he is taking care of his pain and hurt that has haunted him for many years but when tragedy strikes he has to confront his past one more time

Sylvester Stallone : Stallone shows that he still has got it in him to deliver a crackling performance as Rambo as he does marvellously here. He has played John Rambo five times now and this is his fifth portrayal playing the title character and so this time I notice him bring an emotional depth to the character he hasn’t shown before and it really gets you to see an entirely other side to the character and the complexity of himself acted marvellously by Stallone. he brings this very old gunslinger approach to the character as we have seen him go through so much stuff emotionally and psychically so he is covered in scars and we see how much of an impact it has had on him over the years and here Stallone brings a very raw and honest delivery to his dialouge. He can be very tough and have this guard up and he can be intimidating at the drop of a hat with sheer hate in his voice and blackness in his eyes and be very believable and it is all due to the great work Stallone is providing onscreen. At the same time of him being a total badass this is like I mentioned the most vulnerable I have ever seen John Rambo and their is a very real human element he always brings to the role but this time with a great layer of emotional depth that hit real hard as Stallone could step up for the smaller more intimate moments and really shine through on those scenes with great raw emotion that really helped bring impact to the scene. He gives for sure the most completive depth into this character in this film with a great layer of different emotions shown throughout the film marvellously by Sylvester Stallone again giving us another knockout and badass performance of John Rambo. 

Adrian Grunberg : Adrian brought a very interesting take on the Rambo franchise. Grunberg brought this very gritty and intense visual look to the film on top he brings the violence to the film that is needed to express the character as accurately as possible. At the same time he can show the more human elements of John Rambo and show that in ways we have not seen explored before in the franchise and here he brings a lot of new things not just to the character but they legacy. He brought this very western feel to the film while giving a fantastic Rambo film that explores the deeper aspects of the character but can show the darkness as well. As the action sequences are perfectly shown and always top the last. Every performance no matter how big or small was big while getting a truly outstanding performance by Stallone. On top of brining new things to this franchise while still giving the fans what they want and that is exactly what Adrian does so greatly is being able to deliver a action packed Rambo film that brings the character into new terriorty.
