Movie Review : The Danish Girl

The Danish Girl
A emotional film that grabs your attention from the intriguing story surrounded with extraordinary performances from Redmayne and Vikander. Along with fantastic direction from Tom Hooper this film is absolutely marvellous

The extraordinary true story of a couple Einar Wegener and Gerda Wegener who are passionate painters but one day they play a practical joke at a social event and Einar dresses as a woman after that night he starts to second judge his sexuality and find that he enjoys dressing up as a woman

Rated R : for some sexuality and full nudity

Eddie Redmayne : Eddie delivers again another emotional transformative performance that amazes the eyes with his fantastic acting! Eddie was awarded last year the Academy Award for his performance in the theory of everything. For his ability to shine his acting onscreen and fully transforms his performance in this film he proves  once again why he's a Oscar winning actor. In the film he plays a man who likes dressing up in woman's clothing and wants to become a woman. When he dressed up as a woman he nailed it from head to toe in the beginning you know it's him but then when the film progresses you forget your watching him and it looks like a woman onscreen that's how mesmerizing he is in the film. Along with his great emotional range coming to light once again. He will be laughing with a grin on his face the next he has tears streaming down his face showing the vulnerability and pain it's amazing how he can transition through all these emotions while making it look convincing he was fantastic in this film overall one of the finest performances of his career.

Alicia Vikander : Alicia steals the show with her Emotional performance in this film. Before viewing this film I have never seen any of her past work but after seeing her performance in this film I will for sure check out her other work. She gives hands down the best female supporting  performance I've seen since a beautiful mind. She steals every scene she's in with her well delivered dialogue and her emotional range. Her emotion in this film is outstanding she will go from being happy and joyful to showing signs of sadness with tears streaming down her face and you buy into all of it. Some actors when their told to be emotional onscreen act it but you feel like they don't mean it her performance in this film she means what she says it is so genuine it didn't feel like acting which brings another layer of realism to the performance which I love to see. She's deserves all the award attention she gets for this film she is phenomenal. She deserves the Oscar for her performance in this film she's incredibly captivating onscreen and deserves to be awarded  it for her brilliant acting in this film. Overall one of the finest emotional performances I've seen by a female actress in a long time.

Tom Hooper : Tom is a extraordinary director who deserves to be recognized for his fantastic direction on this picture. Tom impressed me with his directing style in the past with the Kings speech right then I knew he would be a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood for years to come. He proves in this film that he is a visionary with keeping the audience intrigued by the plot surrounded with terrific performances from the cast and a beautiful score along with its camerawork. He has this style of filmmaking that's so captivating you can't look away overall another great directed picture from Tom once again.

The Lighting : The colours in the film had this  very yellowish gold feel to the frame that really suited the film. It used the same tones throughout And it was incredibly well chosen and used I loved it great job guys.

The Cinematography : The camerawork in this film is astonishing! Their are many great shots in the film that captured every ounce of emotion to fully immerse you in the film. One in particular I like was in the end you see a scarf dancing in the wind and just how they shot it spoke volumes great camerawork on this film loved it.

The Score : The music in this film is gorgeous! It set the tone right for the scene and really got you invested in the film with its wonderful music. Just the way they used the instruments the melody everything it is extraordinary. It gets you to feel the emotion that is being told in the music not much scores can do that it was beautiful overall a amazing score piece.
