Movie Review : Creed

Creed
This movie is a emotional, riveting film to the rocky franchise! The performances given by Michael B. Jordan and Stallone is captivating from start to finish. This film will have you standing out of your seat cheering and maybe shed a tear. This  is the best Rocky film since the first Rocky.  One of the  years best pictures hands down.

The Rocky film spinoff focusing on Apollo creeds son!

Rated PG - 13: Violence, language and some sensuality

Michael B. Jordan : Jordan delivers another terrific strong dramatic performance once again! He proved to us he can carry a great dramatic film with his outstanding performance in Fruitvale Station. And he once again delivers a emotional and all around great performance once again. In this film he plays Apollo Creeds son and in the film he is a tough kid but at moments would crack and show his emotion and even shed a tear but Jordan did it making it look brilliant. That he was in the moment and so real onscreen it shows again that Jordan is great in dramatic roles and if he keeps giving these kind of performances he will have a Oscar in no time. He shows so many layers of his acting and character in this film which is fantastic we get to see sides of him we haven't seen before. As well with the great chemistry he shared
with Stallone onscreen was so electric. Overall Jordan delivers another terrific dramatic performance once again.

Sylvester Stallone : Stallone packs an emotional punch performance as our favourite Boxer! Stallone delivers a Oscar caliber performance and we haven't gotten a award worthy performance since probably the very first Rocky back in 76. He gives a scene stealing performance that will bring you to tears because Stallone is that good and performs on another medium in this film. I know he has the acting chops to deliver a strong dramatic performance because he has proven it before. And he dose r once again in this film. He is so genuine and real onscreen you completely buy into what he is saying because he makes you believe that he means it. Also I think why his performance is so good in this film is because he got to focus more on his performance because he wasn't directing or writing it so it left him space to just worry about his performance. Also he has played this character now for the seventh time so it's
easy for him to get back into character because he knows this character inside and out. I think he deserves to be brought up in the discussion for a academy Award for best supporting actor that's how good I think his acting is in this film that it deserves to be recognized for awards. Overall Stallone delivers a emotional tour de force performance.

Ryan Coogler : Ryan breaths new life into this beloved franchise. Ryan did a excellent job at delivering a outstanding Rocky film. Instead of doing all the cliques and making it like a look back to the past films he would just do little Easter eggs for the audience focusing more on the integrity of the story. At the same time not losing the aspect that it is a Rocky film and to deliver the elements the fans of come to expect from a Rocky film and for sure he gives them their money's worth for sure. He had great boxing sequences in the film very intense and fast paced and then on top of that have terrific performances from the cast. Keep a eye on this director he's going places he directed a fantastic picture last year with Fruitvale Station and now Creed I think he's a great director who deserves notice. Overall great direction on bringing back the magic of Rocky we have come to love.

The Lighting : It was great for the scope of the film. The tones in the film was gritty and grimy and felt very dirty and that's what I like it really immersed you in the film and made it feel like a Rocky boxing film. It fit the tone and emotion of the film well it was fantastic great job guys.

The Cinematography : The Shots in this film was outstanding! Theirs so may to name but I will just name a few that stood out. Theirs a boxing fight at the end of the film and I thought how they slowed down the scene and put it in slow mow was fantastic. You really got to analyze the shot and really get wrapped up in the emotion of it all I loved the camera work on this film great job guys.

The Soundtrack : Their are so many great tracks from this film it's hard to pick one as my favourite. The film had great tunes that like the lighting fit the tone of the film perfectly. It had great rap music it will have you tapping your feet in the theatre a soundtrack worth purchasing on iTunes.
