Movie Review : The Skeleton Twins

The Skeleton Twins
This film is a gem!  The very refreshing take on such a strong storyline was so compelling to watch. On top with powerful performances delivered  from Wiig and Hader make this film one of the must see films of 2013!

When a brother and sister reunite after along ten years when the brother has a traumatic episode involving suicide. The two are drawn together once again resulting in reconnecting their relationship.

Rated R : language, sexuality and some drug use

Bill Hader : Bill gives a mind blowing performance one of the best I have seen all year! Bill is known for a lot of comedic roles more commonly known for Saturday Night  Live and some other comedic roles such as Superbad, Cloudy With a Chance Of Meatballs and the list goes on. So when I saw the tralier for this film I was quiet excited he was going to try something new and different then he usually dose. And he pulled it off so well he didn't get rid of his humour in the role even though it has a serious tone to the film he had his comedic lines and bits in their. But he mostly was serious throughout and that's what I loved about his performance he wasn't afraid to go serious or darker in this role and totally demolish the look on his as the constant funnyman that he portrays in most of his pictures. He brought this interesting character to life with the way he talked and walked and delivered his sarcasm all of it  just the way he carried himself in the film it just got his performance to shine through. His chemistry he shared with Wiig is undeniably rich and amazing. Overall loved his performance.

Kristen Wiig : A Powerful performance by Wiig! Just like Bill she comes from a comedic background so it was surprising to see her in this kind of serious kind of film. After seeing her in this film I will watch any of her future dramatic roles she brings to the screen. She was so brilliant at channeling her serious side and being more emotional then comedic. And not being scared to cry and go to that dark place. Her acting was just marvellous just by seeing her onscreen you can tell she's in pain and angry and all those emotions because she makes it convincing. Overall loved her performance.

Craig Johnson : Craig is a visionary! The way he was able to blend the humour and the serious tone of the film resulted in a perfect combination bringing out a outstanding feature film. He got great performances from his cast and chose beautiful locations to film it. All of it fit the storyline perfectly he just was the only person who could be at the helm of this huge undertaking of this great film. Brining his own style to the film with a dark tone with some comedy which was great overall loved his direction.

The Lighting : It felt very creamy to me! It had this rich kind of dramatic feel to the picture which was perfect. It wasn't to bright or dark it just fit the frame perfectly. It would be able to express the emotions easier and shine the performances through more also. Overall great chilies loved it great job guys.

The Cinematography : The angles used for this film felt very modern! Their is a shot of Wiig and Bill just sitting talking so like their aren't any jaw dropping angles or techniques used in the film. It was a good no doubt Great job guys.

The Soundtrack : the song selection used in this film was so well chosen. From nothing's going to stop us now to as long as we have each other. Definitely worth downloading on iTunes
