Movie Review : Big Eyes
Big Eyes
This film is truly astonishing! From the compelling story to the amazing performances by Waltz&Adams mixed with a bit of Tim Burton to the mix makes this film a triumph!
It tells the true story of artistic Painter Margret makes these unique paintings with Big Eyes but when she meets a man named Walter. She paints the canvases but when she finds out that her husband is taking credit for her artwork should see tell the public who the real artist is or let Walter take all the glory?
Rated PG - 13 : thematic elements and brief strong language
Amy Adams : Singly one of the best performances out her career! She goes in deep into Margaret's mind showing onscreen the emotion of her hurt and pain she goes throughout the film. It was nice to see Amy step into her creative atmosphere with accomplished director such a Tim Burton and they create magic. When she's onscreen you can't get enough of her performance. When she delivers her dialogue to just the way she looked in the role she fully inhabited this character. When she plays a role you forget that it's Amy onscreen and its just the character that's what she shows us once again in this great performance. Overall loved it.
Christoph Waltz : Another fantastic performance by Waltz once again! This actor makes good film after good film in 09 with his incredible performance in Inglorious Basterds (Oscar Win) to his brilliant role in 2012's Django Unchained (Oscar Win). And once again shows us another great performance as Walter Keane. The emotional drive is intense it's i want to be the most known name and painter in the world and he doesn't care he's hurting his wife emotionally. That terrifies me how disturbingly good his performance was. He was electric onscreen overall loved his performance.
Tim Burton : Tim has redeemed his well known name as one of the most creative and greats directors of our time. Tim brought a freshness and magic that we haven't seen since Edward Scissorhands. He got great performances out of his cast had beautiful locations for the film all of it fell into place perfectly. Tim was able to tell a compelling story without involving vampires, aliens and Headless horsemen. All he did was tell a intriguing storyline and left his trademark on the film. Overall loved his direction.
The Lighting : great fit for the film! It's a very colourful and artistic film so you can expect great tones of colours. Loved the lighting fit the emotion and expressed the scene very well loved it great job guys.
The Cinematography : Some worth mentioning shots! When Amy is by herself you feel like your with her experiencing the fear and sadness. The angles made it extremely helpful to see what she was going through in that moment loved it great job guys.
The Soundtrack : Lana Del Rey is strikes lighting in the bottle once again! This wonderful single she came out with named "Big Eyes" expresses emotion and strength and just is a all around great tune. Definitely worth downloading on iTunes I loved it.
