Movie Review Birdman Or (The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance)

Birdman or ( The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance)
This film was a accomplishment of the art of cinema! From Keaton's Powerhouse performance to the intriguing story. This film will go down in history as one of the most original and entertaining films of all time.

Riggan Thomson a washed up actor well known for his iconic role as Birdman is staring in a broadway play at the same time of dealing with his family and his own career will the show be a hit or will it be a flop?

Rated R : language throughout, some sexual content& brief violence

Michael Keaton : gives the best performance of his career! The way he portrays Riggan felt so real the emotional drive that Keaton shows was amazing. Riggan is going under pain and frustration  and the way Keaton showed it onscreen was great. He put his blood sweat and tears into this performance. It didn't seem like he was reading it off the page it felt like he let his emotions out onscreen which made for a more convincing and entertaining performance. Keaton. Played Batman back in the 90's so Keaton can really relate to Riggan. I have never seen Keaton in this type of serious role before and I would love to see him in more dramas because when he channels his mores serious side we get to see a different side of his acting. Their is no surprise  he has gotten a Oscar nomination for this film. Because when he was onscreen their was a electricity the way he delivered his dialogue all of it was perfect Overall phenomenal performance.

Edward Norton : Gives his best performance since Fight Club! Edward gave a really entertaining Supporting performance. He plays a well known actor but isn't that nice and the way Edward portrayed this character was so wonderful he just became the character and gave it his all. The chemistry he had with Keaton was great when they were onscreen they scene just came alive it was great. Overall another extraordinary performance from Norton.

Emma Stone : Gave extraordinary Performance! Emma is a very talented actress and sheds been in so many great films such as Easy A, Crazy, Stupid,Love & The Help. So theirs no surprise she's a talented actress and in this film she shows us a more dramatic performance which was wonderful. The intense emotion she gives is I care about my dad but I also want to find my place. The way Emma shows that onscreen was so fantastic we got to see different emotions  of her character we got to see her be sad, happy, angry so we got to see different layers of her character and Emma's acting range which was brilliant Overall amazing performance.

Zach Galifianakis : Gave a very entertaining performance! Zach has done a lot of comedic roles over his career he's been in the hangover franchise, Due Date, The Campaign. So it was nice to see him in a dramatic role and he gave a fantastic performance I think he's insanely good in dramas and should do more of them. The emotional drive was incredible he cares about Riggans and also wants the show to be a success so you see Zach deal with his  stress of it and he portrays that onscreen so well. I loved his performance outstanding job Zach.

Naomi Watts : delivered once again another entertaining performance! Naomi isn't in the film for a long period of the film but she makes most of the scenes she has. She captivates you with her great acting range and amazing emotional drive. She plays a actress who's dream is to be in a broadway play and the way Naomi shows that onscreen was great. She shows emotions of excitement, stress&anger it was great seeing different layers of her character. Overall loved her performance.

Alejandro González Iñárritu : He is a genius of the art of film! I have not seen anything like this film before he brought originality and a fresh look on this film with great characters a intriguing story and wonderful locations it all fell into place perfectly. When you watch one of his films you can't compare any other of film that I like it which I love about his style of filmmaking you can't compare him to anyone else. He takes you on a wild ride and gets you out of your everyday life and gets you to  experience something new. He deserves the Oscar for best original screenplay. Overall Excellent direction.

The Lighting : The film is serious so it has a serious tone to the picture but at times the screen will light up and get brighter at parts so they used all different types of lighting choices to fit the mood of the picture Great job guys.

The Cinematography : It was breathless! The angles used in this film was extraordinary. The shots would pan around corners the scenes sometimes would be 20 minutes long and it was designed to feel like one long continuous scene. The camerawork on this film was some of the best cinematography I have ever seen. The Cinematography definitely deserves a Oscar for the excellent camerawork. Outstanding job guys.

The Score : Absolutely brilliant! The score in this film was amazing Antonio Sanchez did a outstanding job. it wasn't very much different instruments it was mostly used by the drums. The beat they created was so very well done and the different sounds they created on the drums was brilliant. Defiantly deserves a Oscar for its outstanding job. Definitely worth downloading on iTunes. Antonio phenomenal score.
