Movie Review : Edge Of Tomorrow

Edge Of Tomorrow
This film is a entertaining thrill ride from start to finish! This film Carry's a  intriguing story with lots of big action sequences  & wonderful characters and wonderful performances from Tom Cruise& Emily Blunt which make for a great film. Overall one of the years greatest action films

A Military Officer is brought to a war base to fight in a alien invasion but when he dies he wakes up in the same day over and over will he be able to win the war with the knowledge he has or will he be living in the same day forever?

Rated PG - 13 : Intense sequences of sci-fi action and violence, language and brief suggestive material

Tom Cruise : Tom delivers once again another entertaining Performance! For a while Tom didn't really make any really good films with films like 2012's Rock of ages but in this film he totally redeems himself. Because his character is a person is living the same day over again the way he portrayed that onscreen emotionally and got you to believe that his character was in pain and and what he was going through was fantastic. When Emily and Cruise was is in a scene together  the acting juices just flowed so naturally these two made a great duo together. When Tom was onscreen he stole the screen with his very well written dialogue and the emotion all of it he just got into this character and thought what the character was feeling in that moment which made for a more convincing and entertaining performance. Best performance of Tom's in a long time.

Emily Blunt : She gives such a tough emotional performance! It was refreshing to see Emily in a different light then were used to seeing were is used to seeing her in those goodie girl movies like Devil Wears Prada,  The five year engagement and more. But in this film she breaks out of that and we get to see more of her tough and raw emotional side which I love. She great at playing a badass solider when she was onscreen with Tom the chemistry the had was fantastic. She was great at using her emotion in the film as a tool one minute she'll be yelling at Tom the next she's all quiet and scared so it was great to see different layers of her character and Blunts emotions as well. Her dialogue was sharp her performance was just all around entertaining. Great performance.

Doug Liman : Doug is a master at his craft! the first film I saw of his was The Bourne Identity and was blown away with what he accomplished onscreen. So when I heard he was directing this film I wasn't surprised this was going to be another great film of his. What he has in this film is amazing he has wonderful performances from his actors, gripping action great character development amazing set pieces he has it all. He did a great job at entertaining the audience with a intriguing story for a few hours. He once again delivers another well  directed film.

The Lighting : the lighting choices they had in the film was very interesting. Since it's a action war type movie you can expect it it have this gritty and dark feel to the picture. But it also had this futuristic tech feel to the picture which was interesting. It was great at exploring different lighting styles. Great job guys.

The Cinematography : some shots worth mentioning. When Tom is fighting on the battlefield the director dropped the camera in the middle of the action and got you to feel like you were their feeling what Cruise felt I loved that. Great job guys.

The Score : Christophe Beck created a thrilling score piece! It felt fast paced at moments then stretched out in time and all you would hear would be the music. Very well composed defiantly worth downloading on iTunes.
