Movie Review : Good Morning Vietnam

Good Morning Vietnam
This film shows the brilliance of Robins voice impressions and his fantastic improv talent. This film has comedy , drama and a very well casted film. This is the best war comedy since Stripes.

This film tells the story of a  radio DJ and how he shakes up the world around him.

Rated R : Strong Language subject matter some violence

Robin Williams : This is his best performance I have seen. This film showed the way he can improv hilarious dialogue and also tap into his  serious side  at times. The way he did the dialogue was great because he would deliver his lines in different voices which was great. But the great thing about his acting abilities is he can be hilarious in one scene then in a second be the most serious person in the room. Which I thought was great he played both emotions so well and made his performance so  entertaining to watch. He was nominated for a Oscar for this performance he would of won if he wasn't up against Michael Douglas for Wall Street. This film is so iconic for Williams career because if you say those words Good Morning Vietnam most people will know where it's from. He had great chemistry with Forest Whitaker onscreen when they shared the screen together it was hilarious and entertaining. Because they both feed off each other great dialogue and chemistry which makes for a great film. Overall this performance hands down is the best I have ever seen of Williams. Loved the performance.

Forest Whitaker : he gives another entertaining performance once again. Forest was first really noticed on film in his breakout role in Platoon (1987).  He had a small part but made the most of it when he was in it. This film was his first big role and he did a fantastic job at entertaining the audience with his portrayal of this intruding, fun character. He plays the guy who's fun but also knows when to draw the line. Theirs a reason that he won the Oscar for best actor for the Last King Of Scotland. His chemistry with Robbins felt so organic& real. Overall Great performance.

Bruno Kirby : He gives another great performance once again. Bruno has gave  some really great performances in films like Donnie Brasco , The Godfather part 2 and many more. In this film he plays the serious role and made it look effortless. His character gives Williams a hard time but also thinks he's funny and the way Bruno portrayed it was was so great. His character is trying to be serious but when Williams is in a scene with him the comedy is just hilarious. So half the time you can't take Bruno's character seriously. Another great performance.

Barry Levinson : Best direction since Rain Man! The direction he gave to the film was brilliant. He got great performances out of his actors. Had beautiful locations that brought the story to life and had a intriguing story. Theirs a reason he won the Oscar for best director because he's a genius as a director. He knows how to entertain you and give you a great story with great actors. Great direction.

The Lighting : it felt very modern. When they shot all the shots in the village it felt very light and bright. Great lighting choices.

The Cinematography : theirs some really good shots of Robin in the studio. He's running around getting records and running back to the mic I thought they was great. Great job they just made you part of the experience.

The Soundtrack : since it's about a Radio DJ you can assume theirs going to be some great songs. In this film you hear some James Brown and so many more. Great song choices for the film.
