Movie Review : Prisoners

Prisoners
This movie was truly one of the best well acted performances of 2013! Hugh Jackman & Jake Gyllenhaal were amazing together the performances just felt so real. The story was so intriguing it felt like Mystic River I loved it!

A family searches to find their daughter and will do anything to get her back

Rated R : Disturbing images , some brutal violence , language

Hugh Jackman : delivered easily one of the best performances of the year . He became consumed by this role he eat and slept it which made for a better performance . You don't usually see him in these type of dark roles but he did so brilliantly he should be in more of them. This role is definitely Oscar worthy . Him and jake in a scene together were brilliant . Great performance .

Jake Gyllenhaal : Best performance of the film! We all knew he had brilliant acting abilities when he showed us in Brokeback Mountain . So their was no surprise he was going to blow us away again . In this role he is a detective just trying to get his job done but when it takes longer then he thought it would be he starts to get consumed by stress & anger . This is easily one of the best roles he has ever done on screen and one of the best supporting roles I have ever seen. The acting he just brought to it was just pure brilliance . Oscar worthy at its best .

Denis Villeneuve : I have never heard of this director before this film after seeing it I will definitely check out his films. The  direction he brought to it was amazing the way he shot the movie and made your emotional with a mix of different emotions of angry , hopeful , sad . I haven't had that happen from a director in along time . And he made it look so perfect . Defiantly deserved a Oscar nomination .great job.

The lighting : it was very dark throughout the film . They used this different style I am not familiar with . Which is great because I love to be surprised once in a while by some great movie magic great job!

Cinematography : the shots were gorgeous it was beautifully shot . The way they moved the camera and made you apart if this film was wonderful I  loved it .

The Score : "Jóhann Jóhannsson" made on for the best scores of 2013! It felt eerie. Low key and kept you interested I loved it . Great job !
