Movie Review : Trumbo

Trumbo
One of the best films of the year hands down. This film is so captivating and driven by such great performances from the cast their is not one false note in sight. This film will have you thinking long after the films finished.

The life and career of Dalton Trumbo

Rated R : language some sexual references

Bryan Cranston : A Oscar caliber performance from Bryan! The powerhouse performance shown onscreen by Cranston is nothing short then genius. He has proven to us he can do dramatic work with his performance in his iconic role as Walter White in Breaking Bad. So we know he can do emotional and acting range very well and he impresses us again in this terrific film. He really inhabited the role and truly became Trumbo with the makeup the way he spoke everything you felt like you were watching Trumbo and not Bryan because he was so good you forgot you were watching him that's how good he was in this film. He definitely deserves Oscar recognition for this scene stealing performance. He's truly a magnetic actor whenever he was onscreen you couldn't look away because he captivated your eyes with his excellent acting. Overall a phenomenal performance by Cranston once again.

Louis C.K. : A surprisingly brilliant supporting performance by Louis! The performance given is so good. We're so used to seeing him in comedic material and for him to take something this big and serious is great. We really got to see his dramatic side in his acting which was extraordinary he impressed me beyond expectations. The way he was able to shift the emotion from humorous to serious in a scene was great. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets an Oscar nomination for the supporting category. Overall a brilliant performance by Louis.

Jay Roach : Jay directs splendid direction to perfection. Jay is known for doing comedies like the Focker series, the campaign. So for him to go straight to drama is a huge risk to take but it paid off really well. He got great performances from his cast great locations, And just made a fantastic picture he really should do more he's only done one before which was amazing Game Change that's about it but he needs to do more because this genre is his calling showing in this film he can deliver amazing pictures. Overall great direction by Jay.

The Lighting : great tones used in this film. They brought this very creamy light feel to the picture that made it feel like this old fashioned Hollywood type movie. Which I loved and found interesting they chose to do that. It did a great job at captivating the audience overall great job guys.

The Cinematography : Loved the shots in the film really made the film breath and it was a character of the film. Like when he's smoking and all you see is a side shit if the smoke flowing from his mouth. Like theirs some fantastic shots in this movie great job guys.

The Score : The music was brilliant nothing below extraordinary. The composed music for this film fit the film perfectly. Using the right instruments to express the emotion of the scene better along. The melody it was just beautiful to the ears loved it.
