Movie Review : Lion

Lion
This film is an emotional ride! This film is incredibly well shot and acted the performance from Dev Patel is truly fantastic. Along with the very moving plot that brought me to tears this film is a must see for anyone who appreciates great cinematic work.

This films tells the story of a boy who gets lost and dedicates his life to finding his family.

Rated PG - 13 : for thematic material and some sensuality

Dev Patel : Patel delivers one of the finest performances of his career! Dev Patel has shown us he can act extremely well in the dramatic genre. With work in films such as Slumdog Millionaire so we know he can flex his dramatic muscles. He dose so once again with his great work in this emotional film. Patel engages the audience in his onscreen performance by the way he totally opened himself up emotionally you couldn't look away from his great onscreen presence in this film. He could go from smiling and happy to totally heartbroken and you see it on the look on his face with the tone in his voice. To tears streaming down his face he is one hundred percent committed to his character and performance onscreen and gives such an emotional and captivating performance. His work in this film is truly something that shouldn't go unnoticed Dev showcased emotions I haven't seen him do onscreen before. Which is great that he was able to go to such deep places within himself emotionally to give such a brilliant performance. Overall Dev Patel is truly fantastic in this film.

Garth Davis : This is Garth's first ever directed film wow just wow. The direction from a first time director to deliver such an emotional punch film and take such get such great actors and get them to deliver top notch performances is incredibly impressive. He was able to tell this emotional story engage the audience and get them to care about this boys journey his direction was remarkably well exacted. Overall great direction for a first time director can't wait to see what he dose next.

The Cinematography: The shots in this film were amazing. Their are multiple shots in the film from a birds eye view they use in the film. That work so well and it's a great film to look at because the camera work was able to be so expressive through the lens and deliver beautifully crafted camerawork  I loved the cinematography in this film.

The Score : the music was so expressive and beautifully composed in this film. The use of sounds for the film and how they captured the sheer tone and emotion of the film was amazing. It was beautiful to listen to and capture the tone and picture perfectly overall loved the score.
