Movie Review : Hacksaw Ridge

Hacksaw Ridge
This film is one of the best war films I've ever seen! The performances from the cast are terrific in this film especially Andrew Garfield's outstanding work in the film. Along with top notch direction from Mel Gibson. This film is well acted well directed and a fantastic film all around.

This tells the true story of a man named Desmond Doss a brave young man joins the war he refuses to touch a gun and instead of killing people help heal them without a single weapon to defend himself

Rated R : for intense prolonged realistically graphic sequences of war violence including grisly bloody images

Andrew Garfield: Andrew Delivers one his finest performances in years! Andrew impressed us in 2010 with his outstanding supporting work in the Social Network. So we know that Andrew has great strength in the dramatic genre and he once showcases it so well in this film. In the film he plays a man driven by his beliefs that he wants to heal people and not harm so he won't even touch a weapon and the amount of sheer emotion that Garfield was able to provide within his performance to show the incredible bravery he had by making that choice was amazing. He impacted the audience with such a fantastic genuine performance that is so outstanding to see him execute  onscreen. He is terrific in this film and once again Andrew delivers another knockout performance.

Mel Gibson : Mel Gibson dose a extraordinary job at directing this film. Mel Gibson has once again dose
a magnificent job at working behind the lens. He did a wonderful job at taking a true story and being able to get the audience engaged into the film and story. Along with casting the right actors for the film while getting incredible performances from the entire cast. He also shot the battle scenes in this film so well it felt gritty was disturbing at times but he didn't sugar coat it he showed the events for how they happened which made the film feel more authentic and real. He has done an outstanding job at directing this film his work on this film is incredible and shouldn't go unnoticed brilliant direction from Gibson once again.

The Lighting : The colours were so expressive in this film. The way they used the lighter scenes with colours of blue and brightness then would use tones of light brown to express the darkness of the battle was well done. It was great colour's to express the emotions at the right time overall great Lighting great job guys.

The Cinematography: The camerawork in this film is splendid. The way the camera was able to move and shot the war scenes was incredible. It captured every aspect of the battle frame by frame and it just showed how this all went down capturing it so well through the lens. Overall great camerawork on this film.

The Score : The music composed in the film was very well done. It felt very calm and soothing. The music fit the character so well the music was able to express the story and characters emotions through the composed score. Incredibly well done Score.
